Hello !

I have tried to be away from internet because after 4 miscarriages I was getting a bit too much information to get pregnant again. But after today's appointment I thought I would come to seek your advise.

I got pregnant again. My last period was 4th June 2013, I believe I ovulated aroun the 20th of June, today 26 July I thought I was 7 weeks. I had some brownish spotting, and since I finished work I went to the Early Pregnancy Unit. To my surprise they told me there was a sac but 5 weeks. I know how we can the weeks, but how do the ultrasound expert calculates the "age" of the embryo?

I am booked for another appointment in one week to see if it has grown, but I am worried sick. I will be devastated if this is not going anywhere again.

I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and ended up with a beautiful baby anyway.

I will be obliged if you can share your experience, and please don't mimnd being realistic. Fingers crossed.

Thank you!

Euro I'm seeing Dr Quenby at Coventry. I've had 4 miscarriages, most recent was definitely chromosonally normal, and all the NHS tests normal. She thinks there are two things - that there are a group of women where stromal cells that line the uterus don't grow normally (which they can demonstrate in the lab and can be treated with progesterone prior to implantation and in early pregnancy) and that many of these women also have high levels of uterine NK cells (treated with steroids) I've just had a biopsy to test for both. Her success rate is about 80%.
It was very refreshing to see someone who is actually researching why this happens rather than saying I am "unlucky" and that if the standard tests don't reveal anything they can't help me.

Just been reading your thread and am so sorry for your loss. Hope you find strength in your hard times and you finally get the positive outcome you really want in time.

I personally have not suffered miscarriage but I wanted to post after reading your question. My mum had ten miscarriages. I do not know the order in which they occured but she has also had 4 sucessful pregnancies. The reasons for her miscarriages was never investigated however. I hope this info gives you some positive vibes. Best of luck for the future x
