Debilitating nausea

Anyone else have this?

Since finding out I was pregant a couple of months ago I've been floored by awful, awful nausea

I can't call it morning sickness as I haven't been sick, but this feels worse in a way as I constantly feel like I'm going to throw up, but am never actually sick to get a bit of relief from it

It starts as gnawing hunger pangs first thing and then develops into nausea as the day goes on, peaking in the evening, by which point I can't get off the sofa and am lying there with a cold flannel most nights

Bath time with DC is hell - hot steamy tiny bathroom = nausea central!

Any non ginger biscuit tips (have shares in fox's ginger creams!) would be great!

I've been the same. I've yet to find a solution. I'm hoping it'll clear up soon...

I had this all last week and thought it was morning sickness. It has now progressed to major vomitting while keep the terrible nausea feeling this week. tea and toast before i move out of bed seems to help slightly and just nibbling on things all day long. as soon as i've gone half an hour with nothing it comes back again. also giving liquroice a go - apparently the strong flavour helps a bit.

I had this and constant eating of starchy carbs was the only way forward for me.

I took two digestives to bed. I ate bits of one if I woke up in the night and I ate the other immediately on waking. This allowed me to have a shower and make it to breakfast. Then I took sandwiches to work and ate one quarter every half an hour whether I was hungry or not.

Then I ate a light lunch and again kept up the 30min eating schedule all afternoon - I found a handful of popcorn or a cracker could work wonders.

My intense sickness faded after the first trimester. I was slightly sick too (sometimes blood) if I didn't manage to eat every 30 mins. For me, keeping my blood sugar entirely stable was the only way I could survive.....Grin

Yes I think lots of carbs and often is the way forward! I'm so hungry all the time!!

Me too, finding eating every 45 mins/an hour helps and failing that lots of toast! So much toast. Bedtime toast, 3am toast, morning toast. I am sick of it but it seems to be the only thing (other than chips!) that keeps the sickness at bay. Last time I felt better at around 14 weeks. 6 more weeks to go for me! Fingers crossed. Hope you start feeling better soon OP.

Carbs and loads of sleep may help. But don't think you just have to deal with it if it's that bad. Speak to your gp and they can prescribe anti-nausea medication that's safe during pregnancy.

It was a lifesaver for me and my doctor was very sympathetic.

Oh WetFake, I have been like this since week 6 and it's still hanging in for me and I am 18weeks on Saturday!!! Nausea, Nausea, Nausea and no sickness! I feel like i've got a permanent hangover!!
One thing that has really helped me are Apples, I have been eating 4/5 a day (instead if the carbs I was reaching for) and they seem to temporarily help, also plain natural low fat yoghurt, with a probiotic in it, as anything I seem to eat (apart from Apples) causes a terrible churning stomach and pretty painful bloating!!
I cannot Empathise/sympathise enough because this has really brought me down, I can literally do a day at work and then nothing else at all.
My DP has been cooking, cleaning, putting DD to bed, and as nice as that sounds, he's finding it pretty stressful after doing it all for 12 weeks, and I'm feeling even more useless! I am preying the 20 week mark is the magic turnaround for me, otherwise I am just going to hibernate until Christmas!!

WetFakeUggs · 26/07/2013 09:58

It's crap isn't it. Thank you for the empathy :)
Will give apples and yoghurt a whirl then!

Shock

How the shitting fuck is it possible to feel this bad!!!

I just nearly passed out in the shower. I've come over all Victorian!

And the constant 'hungry got to eat' - 'have eaten and now feel sick' - 'dont eat to avoid feeling sick' - 'feel even sicker as I haven't eaten' WTAF??!

I'll admit to currently writing this from the ladies loo at work, where I have been for the last 10mins, as I feel sooo sick after my lunch,, (which incidentally tasted quite nice, the only relief I seem to get is from the actual motion of eating, but every other hour of the day is nausea!!)

my midwife did suggest chewing gum, but it didn't work for me!!
I'm also having a total hot sweat and dizzy spell!!

How many weeks are you WetFake?

AmyLou32 · 26/07/2013 19:47
