olive oil to help induce labour???

Iv heard a safe way to try and induce labour that is not bad for mother and child is olive oil? (instead of castor oil) has anyone done this??
I am being induced in 2 days due to my previous child weighing 10lb 8oz and losing a lot of blood after birth. So i thought instead of going through the pain and process of induction to try and speed things along myself safely. so today i have had fresh pineapple, 1tsp of olive oil and am having a vindaloo tonight. so far nothing tho i just feel more hot and swetty than usual but that still could be the hot weather in england we are experiencing. I know im going on and on lol can anyone help on the olive oil question please? :)

Can't see how it would help tbh. castor oil apparently does because it makes your tummy/bowels contract and stimulate bowel movements which in turn could stimulate contractions.

Unless you are ready to be in labour pretty much nothing will work imho.

iv heard to many stories about castor oil so wouldn't want to take it just incase but i have read that an enema does the same trick as castor oil without the chances of being sick? even if things im trying don't work its not as if im causing any harm there all approved in pregnancy and if i do have to be induce then what will be will be just trying to make things a little easier :D

If you haven't got the runs after pineapple, olive oil and vindaloo, have a big old shag ;)

Probably none of it works but can't be any harm trying but I would have the serious poos after that lot :)

have you looked into clary sage? I think it might be one of the only things that does work (pineapple doesn't as you can't eat enough and both castor oil and hot curry rely on actually irritating your bowel and giving yourself stomach cramps which doesn't sound great).

Walking and shagging worked for me.

Other things to try:

Glycerine suppositories make your bowel contract gently and they get rid of constipation. That might be nicer than castor oil. You can use them safely in pregnancy.

I heard an evening primrose oil capsule up your vagina can help soften your cervix.

Raspberry Leaf Tea by the bucketful.

Acupuncture or pressure or certain types of massage by someone qualified in induction massage.

A sweep if you can tolerate one.

Eat date fruit.

Nipple stimulation.

aww thankyou everyone, well nothing happened over night. me and my partner are sexually active but it dont seen to be working, nothing does, as for nipples there to sore to touch lol i have my last midwife appointment tommorow so i wonder if i ask her if she will do a sweep?
