Which TENS machine out of these two?

Hi all. I've decided to buy a TENS machine for labour and it boils down to two makes for our budget i think.

I was recommended the Elle one at NCT but it looks a bit bulky and only has a belt clip (and I see myself more in a loose-fitting dress/nightie for labour) but it does have dual channel controls where you you can control the intensity of each pair of pads individually. Also has separately adjustable pulse length and width so looks like you can really fine tune it to your needs. Boost button is separate to the main part if the machine though which might add to the bulkiness.

The Miracle one however looks much more compact, much simpler to use (potentially), has a little neck pouch with it for mobility and the boost button is on the front. Although I'm not sure the pulses can be quite as fine tuned to individual needs.

Both get good reviews. Which would you go for?

Elle one was fantastic for me - didn't bother with the belt clip just gripped it for dear life during the contractions! simple to use too.

I had the elle tens. Bloody loved it. Never used a different one to compare to though. I didn't use the belt clip. Don't even remember it having one. I also just gripped it for dear life.

I had the Elle tens too (both labours). Would highly recommend. The boost button was really good. Obviously totally up to you,but did you know you could hire them as well as buy?

Another Elle tens user here, I didn't buy it though, I hired one from Boots. Was an absolute godsend. I absolutely believe its the sole reason I stayed at home as long as I did throughout my contractions. It was a fabulous distraction. My Dd was born an hour after arriving at the hospital without anything other that a quick puff on g&a.

Thanks for replies. Elle seems v popular! I see gripping for dear life is the usual way of carrying :D

I know you can hire them but I hear they're good for if you suffer with bad period cramps too (which I do) so i thought i might get good use out if it. and you never know we might even have another little'un! I've actually found one cheaper to buy on another website at around £30 plus delivery.

I gave birth 16 days ago after a very long and painful latent phase (5 days) which I used the Femme TENS for and it was an absolute life saver. I really would not have got through it without it - the boost button is just great when you're having a contraction. I found the pads lost their stick a bit after such a long time so it might be worth getting some spares just in case. I think I got mine for about £30 off Amazon.

Thanks cavort. I actually said Elle when I meant Femme in my original post. Baby brain!! I know everyone loves Elle but its pricey to buy so either I'd hire an Elle or buy a Femme or Boots one.
