Argghh hot feet driving me mad!

Ok is this just me??! I'm nearly 23 weeks and every night at the moment (even when it's not a gazillion degrees out there) I woken by/kept awake by my feet being ludicrously hot. I have to go into he bathroom and run them under the cold tap for ages to get some relief. But then in the morning - all fine and normal temperature?

Has anyone else had this or are my feet just weird?

Not just you! I've burrowed a baby muslin cloth, wet it under the cold tap and currently have it over my feet with the fan blasting on them.
I don't know what it is, but it is annoying and I totally sympathize!

Me! Every single night (I'm 39+1 so hopefully won't have to put up with not much longer - poor you being only 23 weeks!)

It's always the same routine - just as I start to drift off to sleep my feet suddenly go from slightly too warm to burning hot, and I have to resort to the same method of sticking my feet under the cold tap until the cold penetrates to the bone.

However, it does get harder to reach the sink with your foot, the bigger your bump gets...

DH kindly solved this problem by filling the baby bath with iced water and putting it next to the bed, so I can swing my feet out and submerge them in the night without him being woken up by the sound of me falling out of the bathroom sink Grin

you need wet socks.

So glad it's not just me... I didn't get this at all last time. I'm definitely going to try the bowl of cold water next to the bed - why didn't I think of that?? I suspect it'll be yet another thing for DH to laugh at me for though!

Could try spritzing them with one of those Evian spray things you can get in chemists, or for a cheaper option a plant sprayer filled with water + fan. It really helps!

Apparently it's better to use cold but not iced or very cold water as the body will respond to very cold temps by producing more heat Hmm Tepid water just doesn't seem to have the ahhhh factor though [26 weeks].

Good knowledge diege - makes sense. Will be trying tonight Smile

My husband has invented the "cold water bottle"! Basically he just filled an empty plastic lemonade bottle with water, froze it in the freezer and took it to bed wrapped in a pillowcase! It sort of works and he gets to call himself an inventor!

peppermint foot spray from bodyshop or similar...

peppermint oil also worked on my feetsies earlier today in a reflexology session.

tip - keep foot spray in fridge!

Also to help cool down in general - drink warm (not boiling hot) peppermint tea. Egyptians drink it to help in the heat and also to recover quickly from heatstroke.

Don't go mad on it - everything in moderation. :)

loving the cold water bottle gatsby think we may have to borrow that one!

I've found a solution to my hot feet- put feet in bath of shallow cold water before bed, then peppermint foot lotion then 2 ice blocks from the freezer like someone else said- a frozen water bottle will do, put it under the fitted sheet, put your feet/ankles on it, fan on and AHH! I have slept so much better since doing this a few nights ago

hope it helps!
