Hi, so this is possibly a little tmi but I just wanted to see if it's something other people experience or if I should mention to mw. This is our first and I don't want to be one of those people that call the midwife for everything, especially not embarrassing things lol Grin.

So I'm 20+4 weeks and the last few days I've noticed a sort of odd pain (although not really too painful, just a bit uncomfortable, though I've a high tolerance for pain) down at my baby exit so to speak...it's not constant, just sometimes like when I start a walk, or when I'm doing things around the house (just now when i stood up to fill the dogs water bowl). I'm thinking it might just be something to do with baby's position, as I'm feeling him moving a lot nower days but I just wanted to check incase it is something I should be concerned about.

Anybody else had this?

Is it a stabby pain, kind of like someone's stuck a knitting needle up there? Not delirious pain, just a kind of "oooh, ouch" when you move wrong?

I had that when pregnant with DS and it showed up around 20w. I thought it was a UTI, turned out to be the beginnings of SPD as the baby put more weight on my pelvis. This pregnancy it showed up a lot earlier, probably because DC2 is already much bigger for dates.

I've had a dull ache /pressure when I walk on sit in some positions, turned out baby's already head down (I'm 24 weeks) so it's that i can feel. Eager!
If you get sharp pains it's probably worth a quick call though x

Possibly baby pressing on cervix? Nothing to worry about! I get all kinds of twinges and stabbing pains down there!

I'd say it could be the start of SPD worth mentioning to your midwife next time you see her as you might need to be referred for some physio.
I was and had exercises and a girdle support thing Smile

Thank you for the replies ladies, I'd never even heard of SPD, I think I will give it a little mention if I'm still experiencing it next week when I see the midwife just to see what she thinks it could be, better to be overly cautious than not cautious enough I suppose Grin

If it is SPD it goes away as soon as you deliver the baby so don't worry :)
