Quick question-Tesco baby clothes

Just wondering about how people felt the sizes in Tesco baby clothes come up?

I know a lot of people advise not buying a lot of newborn but they seem to have 0-1mth size between newborn and 0-3mth as well! Which should I get??

Also are the weights listed in their clothing chart an average weight for that size / fits up to this weight/ fits from this weight up to the next one??

I bought a newborn set from tesco for my friends baby at Christmas and it fit her perfectly at 2 weeks!

I buy the pyjamas for DD who is tall. Not bought a lot of clothes but the one or 2 I did were ok. Been trying to get vests but they never have DD's size when I go for them!

We found tesco come up small- sainsbury slightly bigger. The most generous sizing (in girls) is next.

Tesco seem to be best for long slim babies

We got tesco tiny baby clothes for DS (he was 6lb 11 so not that small, but newborn stuff was massive on him!) and it fit well. He's nearly 2 and still on the small side but I find his size in tesco fits well. Asda come up quite big and primark and bhs come up quite small, and m and s seems to be cut for short chubby babies as he grew out of their stuff length ways waaaay before they were too small on the waist.

Tesco not overly big, but if you have a sainsburys near by, they are worth a look too, and also Asda.

I thought that "0-3" months meant " Newborn to 3 months", but DH was rapidly despatched to.get some
0-1 month stuff when DS was born, large side of average, and was swamped by
0-3 stuff. Both my DC wore 0-1 stuff for tfeir first 6 weeks or so.

DD was 9lb 1oz at birth - we put her in Tescos 0-3 month babygros which were a tad big at first but fitted well after a couple of weeks.

We stopped using them at 10 weeks because they were too tight. She's long and thin rather than chunky. Meanwhile, her Mothercare 0-3 babygros are still too big for her at 12 weeks. There is literally no rhyme or reason to baby clothes sizing imho!

Newborn was ideal for my DD who was a tiny 5lb 4oz at birth! She had one 0-1 month outfit, it lasted about 3 weeks - I find their stuff is short in the leg which is why she outgrew them. I bought mostly 0-3 month stuff which has lasted well (and did an emergency trip to Tesco for newborn stuff when she came out tiny!).
