Congratulations!

Now stop eating everything you love and noire booze. Only kidding. But seriously, the NHS website has some really useful tips about what is and isn't recommended. Including caffeine. Who knew?!

Call you doctors' surgery and ask if you need to see the GP or can self refer to the midwifery team.

Enjoy it - try not to panic, and join the ante natal group here on MN for your due date month.

Congrats :) Make an appointment to see your GP and he/she will get the ball rolling about MW appointments.
If you decide to terminate, again, see the GP asap
xx

Sorry - I completely missed the unplanned bit.

Have a good think about your options. Whatever you choose is the right decision.

Start taking folic acid, or a preg multivitamin (which will contain folic acid).

19 weeks, 2 days :) I had none until about 8 weeks when the morning sickness kicked in :p

ratbagcatbag · 08/07/2013 21:40

19+2 means 19 weeks, 2 days pregnant. :) do you know how far gone you are?

What next? I got really sore boobs from about five weeks, worst thing ever was the bone aching tiredness, I have never ever known anything like it, even right down to my little toe felt exhausted. I was sleeping from 4pm through to 6am for work. :)

Congratulations.

Congratulations!

Call your doctors, be aware at the appointment they do not do a pregancy test if you have done one yourself. They're will get you to complete forms. They will ask the date of your last period.

My symptoms started at around 5 weeks, sore boobs, nausea but everyone is different, some people don't have any symptoms.

I heard from the midwife around 9 weeks.

You will receive scan date through the post.

Hi Steppyhen, I just found out last week went to the doctors and he says I'm 5 weeks. My first baby so don't have a clue what to expect. I'm excited but don't think I'll settle till I have my scan.

steppyhen · 09/07/2013 08:37

Congratulations! I'm 26+3 and can remember being just 5 weeks and thinking, this is going to drag. It doesn't! Time flies!

Be prepared to be disappointed by the process at the beginning - when I went to see GP, all excited, he just asked for the first day of my last period and asked me if I smoked. That was it...It's only when you start seeing the midwife and having scans that it gets interesting.

Come on MN to search different topics, agree with above re. the NHS website - great advice around food, exercise and which supplements to take. If you haven't started already, start taking folic acid asap. I also bought the 'What to expect when you're expecting' book.

Take care of yourself and don't worry about asking others for help. Enjoy the whole process and even when you have bad days with nausea, exhaustion etc...just remember it's only temporary (that's what I tell myself every day anyway!)
