I'm 7 weeks now and started bleeding last week. I had a scan at epc and all looked normal. Doctor found an area of erosion on my cervix that was bleeding. he took some swabs and said that I would bleed more afterwsrds because of the disturbance. two days later and I'm still bleeding bright red blood. no pain or cramps. its so worrying. I was just wondering what other peoples experience was with cervical erosion?

I had this however it wasn't when pregnant. It was generally after sex and I would bleed for a day or so after, red bleeding each time. During pregnancy your cervix is more sensitive anyway which is why it can bleed without being touched or irritated so when the dr has swabbed it will have caused more bleeding. I'd say personally to rest and if you're worried ring the early pregnancy unit to put your mind at ease :)

I had bleeding around the same time (now 11 weeks). It was initially suspected cervical erosion but when they had a look, it was actually coming from a small internal bleed area or subchorionic hematoma (which now seems fingers crossed to be resolving). Cervical erosion is great news as you have a benign explanation. I was told it was quite common in early pregnancy and is triggered by the changing hormones. Bleeding is likely to be aggravated by exams or sex but scary as it is to see it, you know it's coming from somewhere external and away from the baby.

If you haven't had a scan yet, hopefully they will give you one next week to rule out other causes and set your mind at rest? I think it's good advice to rest and take it easy in the meantime.
