I'm 31 weeks with dc2 and am just finding everything completely overwhelming. I'm absolutely exhausted looking after 2.8 year old, working and trying to keep the house in some order. I can't remember this stage last time but I just keep feeling guilty as I'm losing patience with dd who is going through a demanding phase. I keep crying with no particular warning!
Please someone reassure me that this stage passes or I'll have gone mad by the time I get to term!!

I'm 31+5 and have spent the majority of my two days off work in bed, so I feel your frustration. This is my first pg and I can't imagine having to look after a young DC while feeling this way, so I sympathise! Fingers crossed this doesn't last but don't feel guilty if it does and you need to rest... your body is growing another human!

Towards the end of my second pg (dd1 was 22 months when dd2 born) I spent every afternoon asleep / dozing in bed while dd watched cbeebies on the tv in my room. Otherwise I was exhausted & shouty and ended up hating myself. I actually had more energy / patience once dd2 arrived.

Tv, books on sofa, too many snacks are all your friend now and for next few months. It is hard but gets easier and is so worth it (or at least I think so, have Dc3 now too). When do you stop work & will dc be in childcare at all still? - I found my toddler free day was amazing for re-charging batteries and getting strength to face another week.

totally with you op. I'm 31+3 and completely in the same boat. had enough of work am considering calling in sick for a day or two but then I remember I can't rest with a 15 mo. and we have just moved house on the weekend so its chaos here anyway! and no decent curtains means we are not getting enough sleep..

I feel horrible tbh

I had a major meltdown at 32 weeks - absolute craziness. It's definitely normal but doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I have such admiration for you, as you're also caring for your other little one. This is my 1st and only have to look after me and DH, and still in pieces. Just try to look after yourself and don't be hard on yourself if you do need a bloody good cry xx
