Due baby early November and can figure out/decide what to buy for baby's sleeping arrangements...

I had a Moses basket for DS1 and he was in it 6weeks then in to a crib then a cot! I didn't buy the cot or the crib, they were gifts so I had the luxury of having all 3... My now problem is, 4years on I got rid of all DS baby things and can't decided what to buy,

Moses Basket CONS- are not cheap! £100 for a decent one stand etc and I can't justify that for 6weeks then having to move on, PROS- easier to move around the home, and is smaller so baby feels safe and secure...

Crib CONS- more expensive, take up more room, not as mobile as a Moses PROS- longer use out of it (how long??) baby feels secure and not drowning with space

Cot - baby will always move on to cot but I'm reluctant to put baby straight in as it is a bit big and "drowning" in it....

So tell me, what did you or do you plan to use for baby? Maybe some links? Or tell me which ones i can go look at... I don't want to waste lots of money but if I will get plenty of use out of it, price is not a major problemSmile

Thanks very much Thanks

Just read reviews and everyone's raving about it? Could buy this for baby in big cot, what's your opinions? SmileSmileSmile

Hi Smilehappy my friend has a very similar item to the sleepyhead and raves about it. Her husband is Swedish and apparently they are very popular there. Her daughter settled very easily in hers. She would sleep in it downstairs too.

I bought one but then returned it as I suddenly became a little paranoid about the SIDS side of things - though it was very firm and so not really like using a normal pillow. I also discovered that the spare covers were nearly £40!

I'll see how we go without but if we have problems I may change my mind.

We have a DIY co-sleeper - the cheapest cot from ikea, with a side removed and cable-tied to the bed. Towels rolled up and pushed against the mattress on the far side make sure it's snug against our mattress. It works really well and it'd great for breastfeeding - I don't even sit up, just roll dd over to me and then roll her back.

Was going to get a bednest but settled on a Troll Bedside Crib. It's on wheels so can easily be transferred from room to room in our flat

We're thinking of the Amby Baby Hammock www.pocobabyhammocks.co.uk/, has anyone tried this?

Otherwise we might go with the NCT bednest.
