Just found out I'm about 6wks pregnant with DC2 but really don't know if I'm ready yet. Dc1 is nearly 16mths and really hadn't planned another so soon. Obviously feeling very lucky and happy but also very overwhelmed and scared by the prospect of two so close together. Also very tired and bit underwhelmed by DH's 'Oh that's great news, there we go then, wonder if a girl or boy.......what's for tea?' level of response tbh. How do you all do it? Thank you!

Congratulations! I have two - ds is 2.8 and dd is 11 weeks. The thought of it was actually worse than the reality. It is bloody hard work, but you get through it, just because there is no alternative! Bathtimes are hard to co-ordinate, and days when I'm on my own with both of them were tricky until I started using a sling with dd - that would be my top tip. It means we can go to the park or just for a walk and I can help ds go up the slide etc without worrying I've left dd unguarded in the pram. I'm really glad now that they're so close in age and will hopefully play well together as they get older.

I'm not having dc3 though, never ever!! Two is plenty Grin

Thanks for replying lurcher, that's really cheered me up! Will be investing in a baby carrier as that's one thing I regret not getting with ds. Glad all worked out so well for you, think I'm just so tired at moment that I'm over thinking it when I should just be going with the flow.

You'll be fine. DS has just turned 2 and DD is 16 weeks. I found it was a bit like having the first in that while DH was off on paternity leave I sometimes wonder how I'd cope when he went back to work but you soon work out your own way of doing things. DD is much more used to being in her bouncy chair and I'd second the recommendation for a good sling - used it so much more this time round.

There are some moments when it's a bit chaotic and both are crying but not that often. Most of the time it is just lovely now and seeing DD looking at DS and smiling is just gorgeous.

Congratulations!
