I got a big surprise BFP this morning.

I'm late 30's, already have two children and the age gap is going to be 10.5 years. My oldest is autistic and starting secondary school in september, my youngest has other health issues and my dh has depression and is all over the place so I already feel like I have a fair bit of pressure on me. Ironically he went to the GP to discuss a vasectomy on Monday. We were using condoms so I can't think how it's happened. He's said he'll to go with whatever I want to do.

I'm shaking and feel sick when I think of all the implications of this and really just need someone to tell me that it's do-able. Sad

Of course you'll be fine. Once baby's here you won't know what you did before them!

Yes you will be fine. Things have a way of working out.

Its obviously a big shock and a lot to take in. Give yourself some time to really get your head around it, dont put pressure on yourself to make any decisions about anything too quick (assumin you are only a few weeks).

Every pregnancy is a trip into the unknown, but I can relate to your fears since you already have a lot on your plate. I'm in a similar situation, late 30s, one autistic son, another with type 1 diabetes and I'm currently trying to navigate my way through early pregnancy and all the sickness and fatigue that comes with it. Although it is a planned pregnancy, I have strong moments of 'what if' and can feel sick with fear at times. My husband always says that with everything extra we have to do in a day for our kids because they have additional needs, we are in fact better prepared than ever...I don't know about this, but I do know that talking about how I feel helps. Find someone you trust and let yourself explore all the 'what ifs' and fears. Good luck!

Thanks all.

Cravingcake - Thank you. Yes, only 5 weeks.

Andanotherthing123 - Thank you for understanding! It's the impact that it will have on our ASD DS that I'm worried about the most already. We'll have to move house as we don't have enough room here for another child and it will be a massive change only a while after he changes school. Like many ASD children, he doesn't cope well with change and already has anxiety issues. It just feels overwhelming at the moment.
