I had sex with DH this morning and when he pulled out (sorry TMI) he had dark brown blood on him.

I have spoken to the midwife who has said to monitor it and see what happens and if it increases to call GP who will refer me to the EPU.

CAn anyone give me some positive outcomes for this. Am scared.

I had a bright red bleed at about 17 weeks. All was fine. I am now 36 weeks! Think positive, brown is old so that's better than red. xx

Thankyou.

Think I am more scared as the older DC know I am pregnant and the thought of having to tell them something has gone wrong breaks my heart.

Dark brown blood is old blood, likely from your cervix (shedding old cells) and not generally something to worry about. I had a few occasions like that with both my pregnancies, they are now 4 years and 16 months old.

My niece had bright red bleeds throughout her pregnancy, she now has a 2 year old dd.

Try not to worry.

I had bleeding at five months after dtd with dh. Got checked over and everything was fine, haven't done it since though much to dh's dismay!

Stitch is right. Dark brown blood is old blood and rarely anything to worry about. Red, fresh blood they would need to find where it was coming from but can also be nothing. Blood with period like pains is most worrying.

DD had her baby last week after bleeding off an on through her pregnancy. She has a perfectly healthy little boy. Hope all goes well for you.

I had brown blood regularly until about 24w. Brown blood is good! I ended up at mat triage because it coincided with stretching pains and the beginning of braxton hicks (twins, so everything's earlier) and they diagnosed a cervical ectropion - no complications associated with pregnancy and when it gets irritated by sex, over exertion or a big poo it'll bleed.
