Children sometimes say the funniest things to pregnant women. I've decided to share my best experience with you.
When I was PG with my DS ihad the following Conversaton with my then five year old nephew:
DN: Auntie, Is there a baby in your tummy?
Me: Yeeesss.... (Dreading next question)Blush
DN: Has it got any toys in there?
ME: No. (Relief)Grin

Please share your stories with me. I need cheering up.

Oh but it does have a toy in there, the umbilical cord! :)

That's a really cute story. I have 6 nieces and none of them have said anything really funny about the pregnancy but one niece was a little darling making sure I was very comfortable all the time, and she normally bounces around like Tigger but she was being very delicate with me. She also wanted her hands on my bump all the time and exclaimed 'I CAN FEEL HIM MOVE!' She was so excited it was really darling.

A friend's 3yr old daughter aked why one of our other friends was "fat", her mum explained to her that othre friend had a baby on her tummy. Kid developed a strange fear for pregnant women caused because... she though the pregnant one was a baby eater!

on coming into the bathroom after i had had a shower
ds1 "goodness me mummy your tummy has gotten fat"
i turned around to brush my teeth
ds1 "goodness me, but not as big as your bottom"

Was walking down the street and this little boy (about 5) pointed right at me and said quite loudy 'Wow Daddy look how big that lady is'. The daddy went very red and tried to explain in hushed tones that the lady had a baby in her tummy. It made me chuckle:o

When my SIL told her DD that I had a baby in my tummy my niece looked intently at my stomach and then looked at me and said gravely, "Open it please, I want to see the baby!" ... she was 2 and a half at the time Smile

Friend and her dh on holidays with her two boys 4 & 6. Goes to train station and gets two adult tickets and one child's ticket for her 6yr old. Tells the girl at the ticket box that her 4yr old is only 3 so he travels for free.
On the train the inspector is checking the tickets and starts chatting to the two boys. He says to the 4yr old 'aren't you a great chatter what age are you? 4yr old says 'well yesterday I was 4 but today I'm 3. He just smiled and said 'I see'Blush

Fashion conscious 6 year old on seeing me in my slobbing around the house tracksuit bottoms - in a sympathetic and knowing voice - "did your mummy make your wear that?"

crazychilledmummy · 02/06/2006 14:47

In supermarket a while back I saw a little girl looking intently at the Andrex toilet rolls, she then turned to the little boy next to her who was throwing a tantrum, "shhh Andrew, there's a puppy in there and its sleeping".

Recently I have got a new dog, my sister is currently pg. when I explained to DS that we would be getting a new dog he said "will the dog be in your tummy like Auntie Sara's baby?".

Xavielli · 02/06/2006 19:35

When pg with DD, Ds used to stoke my belly and say "ahhh bebe" ... this then turned into him doing it to anyone with a slightly rotund stomache.... My mum and DP weren't impressed! TeeHee! Grin

ds's friend: my mummies got a baby in her tummy!
ds: oh...how will it get out?
ds's friend: hmmmm not sure...
ds: probably she'll be sick and it'll be mixed in with all the carrots!

....nice thought!!!!

PinkyRed · 05/06/2006 20:51

When I was pregnant with dd, we stayed with my neice Ella who was two. She was fascinated by my bump, and her mum explained that there was a little baby in there, waiting to come out when she was big enough.

Ella thought about this for a minute, then leaned forward until her nose was touching my bump and shouted "BABY! COME OUT NOW!"

dyzzidi · 05/06/2006 21:05

When i was PG with DD my Nephew aged 22 months used to want to talk to baby. I had to lift my top while he sang song and looked for baby through my belly button. He also used to not want to kiss me goodbye but was desperate to kiss the baby in my belly.

When I was pg with DS2, DS1 asked how the baby was going to get out. I said it would come out of my 'girlie bits'. The look on his face was a picture as he said "Ooooooo. Now, thats gonna hurt!!"
