Morning sickness or sickness bug?

I'm 7 1/2 weeks pg. we had a huge outburst of D&V at work this week, I normally work in an office but got called out to people homes over on Sat to help due to the amount of sickness we had.

I've had a small amount of "morning sickness" but it's been mostly nausea.

I woke up this morning to run to the bathroom and haven't really stopped Confused I'm struggling to keep water down now which is making me think this is more than just morning sickness. It's been a long time since my first pregnancy so was just looking for some advice really. Could this just be very bad morning sickness? Is there anything I should look out for? I didn't experience anything like this before.

Thanks x

Snap!!! I was thinking of posting the same, i woke in the night and was sick and wondered if it was extreme ms or a bug. I think i have a bug as i've had diareaha (sp) as well this morning, along with numerous vomiting spells. I'm just pleased i've been able to ship my DS off to the grandparents for the day.

Yeah I'm exactly the same, both ends now Confused (sorry) there is sooo much going around too. Hope you feel better soon x

How are you feeling now? I stopped throwing up about 2ish and have just had the normal nausea morning sickness feeling since. Havent been able to eat much but trying to get fluids in.

Really unsure if its a bug, or extreme ms.

Hope you are feeling better soon, I had suspected norovirus at 11 weeks and it was pretty grim! Just sip at water, don't gulp huge glasses down, and ice lollies are good too.

if you stop peeing then get advice from MW/GP as you are probably dehydrated and this is the only risk to the baby from a sickness bug really.

How did you get on at the Dr's OP? Hope it's a bug and not Hyperemesis Gravidarum which peaks around this stage of pregnancy?

The doctor suggested rest and plenty of fluids. Had a break this afternoon but was sick again about 11pm Confused I managed a bit of toast too. I feel drained to be honest and paying too much attention to the smallest twinge in my tummy. Fingers crossed tomorrow is better. Hope you're well x

I've managed to avoid actually being sick so far (16+5) thank god!! I'm such a wuss with sick Grin.

My cousin just had a son and she was okay for the first couple of months and then just everything made her unwell Sad. Her OH wasnt even able to have bacon in the house Grin.

It was more that you couldn't keep water down that had me reply (obviously as so far I've no experience with the throwing up part of morning sickness, praying to keep it that way!). When I was about 12 weeks my DH got gastroenteritis and he was throwing up soooo much he couldn't keep water down. Usually it goes away in like 2 days but when he went docs (after 4 days of me nagging!) they listened to his stomach and said it was more severe and he was prescribed some pill to stop the throwing up so that he could hold down water and not dehydrate. It's really easy to get, a slightly bad meal eating out, or even sharing a hand towel with somebody who has it and doesn't know they have it (since usually it passes people don't think much of feeling a bit unwell one day I suppose). I don't know if doc listened to your stomach or not (just thought id mention it incase) but if it persists perhaps ask them to check as dehydration isn't good so you need to be holding water at least.

Good luck, hope you feel better soon Smile Thanks

Hope you got some sleep blurry. I'm currently 8+5 weeks pg with DC2, but was in hospital on a drip for the day a couple of weeks ago thanks to Hyperemesis/dehydration.

If you're not better tomorrow, and not eating or drinking, please please go back to the Dr's and ask them to prescribe you some anti-sickness tablets. I tried three different ones before settling on the one that best suits me, and I'm feeling so much better.

I'm not sure where you are, but I know attitudes and care differ around the country (my poor niece put up with weeks of severe ms because her GP refused to take her seriously; she's in Wales). There are meds that are safe to take whilst pregnant.

Keeping everything crossed it is just a quick bug!

Feeling much better today. Had a slight touch of diarrhoea earlier today but nothing since. My back aches from all the heaving (sob) gone back to normal nausea now Smile

Going to have a bath later and an early night

Hope you're all well x
