Hi all,

I'm 20 weeks and have quite a large bump already although have been fairly lucky so far to have not put weight on anywhere else (apart from my boobs but they have always been huge so I'm used to that!)

I'm a larger girl anyway so my bump is a little flabby still rather than smooth and round (and I have such a concaved belly button that seems to be worse with a bump!)

I have one pair of maternity jeans that have an over the bump band which give me such a lovely looking round bump and I feel supported.

However, I own a lot of maxi dresses which all still fit lovely but my bump just looks flappy and not very nice:

Is there anything I can buy to wear underneath my dresses to help give me that nice rounded bump again and a bit more support?

You can get bump bands, like these:

Can highly recommend mama spanx. Not cheap, but wore mine loads in last pregnancy and just dusted them off again for this one. Think I got them from figleaves.

Spanx mama range are great.

Get some maternity tops from new look. I found these made my belly look more of a bump than just a bit wobbly at that stage as they are a flattering shape for pregnant bellies. I got a pack of 3 for about £12. I Wear them with leggings and a long cardi.

Completely agree with pinkapples - if you buy a couple of maternity dresses or tops it will accentuate the bump more. Depends on budget if course cos I suppose if your dresses still fit then why spend more but once I bought a few things (also all from new look maternity online) that were maternity range, suddenly people started noticing the bump more and I felt more pregnant which was nice!

Thanks all. I do have some maternity tops but don't really want to spend any more money on more maternity clothes than what's necessary and my bump really looks the same in either non maternity or maternity clothes.

It's a definite bump just a bit flabby, so I think spanx mama is going to be the way to go!

Highly recommend a bump band, Topshop do a good one for £7. I love mine as I can still wear my normal trousers and jeans but keep them undone.
I've also just bought a couple of these dresses from asos. www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2954654

I wasn't sure when I ordered them if they would just show up all my lumps and bumps but they are very flattering and a nice length just below the knee.

It seemed counter intuitive to me but tighter fitting clothes definitely make the bump look better and offer support which is much appreciated.

Will a bump band work under a dress to smooth lumps an bumps?
