Hi,

I am trying to complete the MA forms and a bit stuck with it. I was working last year and have payslips to cover test period. Since then i have done short projects through my limited company where i did not draw a salary. I need advise on what information needs to on regarding employment on the form. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Just send them the 13 highest payslips from your paid employment. As far as I'm aware voluntary/unpaid work doesn't count and would just confuse everyone.

Also, just give them details from main job x

Thanks. What about the start date of mat leave on the form?

If you're no longer working its the date you want your money to start, they will pay from 29 weeks onwards, the one about the date of pay period I don't know, I left that one blank they must have filled it in x

If you haven't finished working they send you a form to fill in and send back when you stop so they can start paying you.

Can I just jump on this to ask a question? Sorry!!
I have started a new job this week but will be finishing at the end of September for maternity leave will I still be able to use this for my maternity allowance claim or am I too far along now? I am 16 weeks x

You won't be able to use that job for smp but it may count towards ma, if you google maternity allowance calculator it'll tell you if you're entitled.

TinkyPeet · 05/06/2013 11:59

If you have worked 26 of the 66 weeks before your baby is due you should qualify for maternity allowance, if you go to ther website it has calculators on or dates etc x

Thanks for your input, will send the form and see. X

OK, I want to know how I have to evidence my self-employed pay for MA.
I am freelance but for my main job, my work level varies, sometimes I will work one or two days a week, other times 6 day weeks for 9 or 10 weeks in a row. I usually invoice sporadically for several weeks at a time.

My question is, am I going to bugger up my maternity claim? What evidence do they need that I have been working SE and paid?

Not too sure on this one, i think the advice is to send everything you think useful and they will send you it back, dont photocopy anything, but have always found them very helpful on the other end of the phone, somewhere on the form is a phone number for the office full of helpful people, don't google it cos you get a jobcentre call centre and they're about as useful as a chocolate teapot 90% of the time! X

Quo if you pay class 2 national insurance that's all you don't need to prove income.
