SPD/ clicking pelvis advice

Hello,

First time poster here. Basically I'm 22 weeks into my second pregnancy (1st pregnancy I had severe SPD) and have been experiencing SPD symptoms. I have been seeing a physio who has given me exercises and a support belt but not seeing again until I feel the need.

On Sunday I started experiencing/ feeling my pelvis clicking (front and back), I was just wondering if anyone else had this and how it affected their pregnancy, e.g will I have to have a c-section, do I have to go on bed rest and is there any further risk to the baby? I didn't experience a clicking pelvis during my first pregnancy.

I am also waiting for the physio to give me a call but would like to hear from others who have experienced this.

Thanks

My pelvis is very clicky, third time with SPD. Doesn't hurt as much as the first two times though. I'm not on bed rest, though I am taking it VERY easy. In the middle of the night when I get up for a piss, I can actually hear it clicking when I walk, which is unpleasant to say the least.

It shouldn't mean you have to have a CS, but your MWs need to be aware of the SPD so you don't end up in a bad position for giving birth. With first I had ventouse due to baby distress and recovery was lengthy. With second I was stood up supported under my arms. AND, I didn't push baby round in a big pram, used a sling. Recovery much better.

AFAIK it's not a risk to the baby, though I've found it very stressful. I got much further along this time and allowed myself to think I would be ok, then when I wasn't I felt a failure. I know what I can and can't do, and factor in what recovery I will need if I choose to do something like take the kids out, or stupidly move all the furniture in my bedroom in a nesting frenzy!
