Even just walking around very slowly and even when I'm sat down just talking, it's worrying! It's not extreme, just enough to give me a bit of anxiety

Probably just the baby not giving your lungs enough room but if you're worried, give your midwife a call.

StitchAteMySleep · 02/06/2013 14:41

Not when sitting down talking. I did feel breathless at points after large amounts of exertion, like several flights of stairs or walking very fast to catch a bus.

The baby does take up a lot of space at full term and presses upwards on the diaphragm, but still to be breathless when sitting talking sounds worrying to me.

You need to phone the midwives or GP and get checked out.

As you're worried, ring the MWs and ask for advice on what to do.

Chances are the baby has moved and is pressing up rather more, also perhaps a touch of anaemia. But better to speak to someone you know to be qualified and find out what they think.

I was tested about a month ago for a pulmonary embolism and I had a heart scan both came back clear, can things go wrong in a month, its the same feelings I had when they tested for those, babys bum is VERY HIGH in my belly, as in its touching the top ribs.

I have been really breathless this pregnancy off and on. I have put it down to the babys position as the docs cant find anything else either. Even my iron count is ok. I have ended up finishing work earlier because of it ( I am 35+4) and baby was breech at last check. At least at 40 weeks you are pretty much there! I would make an appointment at the docs though just to make sure

Themobstersknife · 02/06/2013 16:11

It sounds like it is baby's position but things can go wrong in a month. They were obviously concerned enough to test you for PE and heart complications before, so they will take you seriously again. Please get checked out.

MrsBungle · 02/06/2013 16:12

I think you should get checked out but I was really breathless at the end of my second pregnancy. He was just so high. I felt I could never get a full breath in. There was nothing wrong with me, just his position!

joanna0211marie · 02/06/2013 16:33

Im scared now

It is likely the baby's position so try not to panic, but get checked for your own piece of mind. Stressing about it is no good for you or the baby.

joanna0211marie · 02/06/2013 16:38

I've been in and out of triage for palpitations but I have an anxiety disorder, im constantly thinkin im gonna die of horrible heart things, im 22 and not over weight. Just terrified now.

I think you need to get medical advice too, not still be dithering after 2 hrs from your original posting. Especially with what happened last month, they'd be keen for you to get checked out.

toffeelolly · 02/06/2013 16:53

I had this around 36 week's, mudwife's checked me over all was normal they said this can happen as the baby get's bigger and press's on your organ's. But maybe you should get checked out to put your mind at rest. All the best.

joanna0211marie · 02/06/2013 16:59

I'll phone triage, I just don't like to because everytime they do an ecg on me it always comes back strange even when there is nothing wrong. I just feel embarrassed because I'm there all the time worrying about dying.
