Help! I can't sleep at night...

I know what your thinking this has been done to death, but for the last few nights when I go to bed, I'm tired and comfortable (I know should be glad) but the minute I lie down I feel like the universe and it's problems are on me...
I'm 27+4 and wondering if anyone else feels like this? As soon as morning say 8am comes around I can sleep fine for the day but have to go to work and other boring things.
Anyone any ideas on how to help? Do you think this is just to do with the huge change soon to be in my life?

Yup sounds like it to me! I have had same...can sleep all day but everything sits on my mind at night. Am 29 weeks today.

Try some relaxation breathing or write all your worries down as they hit...helps a little

Have you tried listening to a pregnancy relaxation CD?

I am using a free app on my iphone called "Hypnobirthing" from the Hypnobiryhing Centre. I put it on when I get into bed, it's 30 minutes long and I don't think I've ever heard the end of it!

Its really helped me relax and fall asleep at night.

Me too. I'm 38 weeks and have suffered from insomnia during the whole pregnancy (saying that, I've always been a poor sleeper so nothing really changed). On a good night, I get 4-5 hours sleep. I find that I can generally drop off to sleep ok, but then wake up for the inevitable loo visit, and then to try to shift my large belly into a comfortable position and I'm then wide awake for at least 2 hours, with all of the worlds worries in my shoulders. I genuinely woke up the other night worrying because I hadn't dusted the living room. To the point where I nearly got up at 3am to go dust it (I might be nesting though...) My advice is that if you can't sleep, if you have a spare room - change beds. The change of scenary really helps me, as does to cool sheets. I will change rooms, read my book for 20-30 mins then drop back to sleep. I think my DH has given up wondering where I disappear to in the middke of the night...
