Went up a curb, am I overreacting?

Was driving in my car today and didn't see the curb to my left and I completely mounted it in my car.

It shook me up and it was a nasty hit in my car.

In 31 weeks pregnant, no pains or blood but I'm worried that the sudden movement would have harmed my baby?

Can someone let me know what I should do please? :(

I would say with no pain, bleeding etc then you needn't worry. Babies are very well protected in the womb - obviously if anything changes take yourself along to the hospital.

Nothing, baby will be ok but you need to try and calm down. Your mood will affect the baby.

Go and sit down with a drink and try to be calm. The baby is well happy sloshing about in there!

From the title I thought you'd fallen up a curb!

Probably Smile. If baby's movements change or if you get any other symptoms go and get checked out though. I understand the worry, had a car crash at 22 weeks (skidded on ice and spun into a ditch) but all was fine, dd's 2 now.

My mother had a very nasty accident 2 weeks before giving birth to me. She went into a panic - as it happened she was on the way to the hospital for an antenatal check and she cried at the midwife. She told her that unless there was a change in movement or bleeding there was nothing to be worried about. To calm her down they offered her a scan on the spot and all was fine.
I would be concerned if the airbag had been deployed but doesn't sound like it did?
Please have a cup of tea- sure the stress will do more harm than the bump. I'm also 31 weeks so know it would have shaken you up a lot. I fell off my bike at about 11 weeks and was in tears so know what you're going through.

Don't have anything to add to the advice you've already been given- just wanted to give you a Brew and some Flowers

I was about 30 weeks, and had a stupid accident and smacked into the back of a stationary tractor ( just don't ask !!! ) The impact caused enough force to injure my knee on the steering column,, and I remember my DH finding my glasses in the footwell of the passenger side ( just to give you an idea of the force of the impact in comparison to yours ) I was worried sick and went to labour ward?..the staff were not at all concerned, but monitored me for a few hours, all was fine?the baby is now a thriving 6 year old.

If you are anxious about the Baby, it might be worth going to see the Midwives, they will just check everything for you so that you can relax.

( Was advised to go to Labour ward, didn't just rock up Grin )

Something similar happened to me today! I'm 27+4. DH was driving us to the supermarket and had to make a rather abrupt stop in the car. I got quite a jolt and seatbelt dug a bit. Phoned MW in a panic. She said any bleeding, pain, waters leaking or reduced movement and I should go into antenatal triage. I've had none of those things and bubs has been kicking away.

DH only passed his test a few weeks ago and is still a bit of a nervous driver. I could tell he felt really bad, poor thing!
