Hi
I'm pretty sure I don't have depression but I'm 39+3 and just started feeling really fed up.
I've had a really good pregnancy with no problems but yesterday I started feeling really bored/fed up/tired/unhappy and today it's worse; I actually cried earlier because my DP snapped at me (mildy). Is this normal? Are my hormones partly to blame?

I would say it is normal to feel utterly fed up at your stage of pregnancy.

If you suddenly feel significantly different, maybe it is a sign of impending labour?

Feeling out of sorts is a common sign that things are going to happen soon. It's also normal to feel fed up, tired, unhappy at 39+3, you have been working really hard for the last nine months (even if you sailed through it, it's still hard work!!) and you have every right to be peeved.

I'm 30+6 and have been feeling that way for the last few months, I think I've moaned my way through the whole thing!!

Good luck.

Hi Bunnychan,

I just read yesterday that one of the symptoms of an impending labour are apparently that you start feeling really grumpy and have a mood change, so don't worry. Looking at what others have been saying, it seems to be perfectly normal at this stage. We are at the same stage of pregnancy :)

Sending a Biscuit your way, and hoping you will feel much better soon! Have you been out for a walk or for dinner, or are you able to do something nice for yourself? I went for a walk yesterday with DP and felt much better after it. The past week I've sent out mainly shopping or window shopping, but it still felt good just to be out of the house and distracted Grin

Wishing you all the best with labour and baby :)

That's reassuring ladies- feel better knowing its normal ish! It was weird- I absolutely sobbed my eyes out but feel a bit better for it.
buttery I'm so glad your here to hand-hold! I keep following your posts on the may thread too :-).
I just wish I knew when it was going to happen as it feels like two steps forward, one step back. X

Am almost 38 weeks & for the first time in this pregnancy I actually cried my eyes out for no reason at all. Just felt fed up, massive, uncomfortable & emotional. I hope it is a sign that things are going to happen soon, I've been having loads of BH & I would hate to think this could last 2-4week!!

So yes seems normal... the joys!

Bunnychan, Ive been following your posts too as we've got the same due date! :)

It is really difficult not knowing when the baby is going to come. I think it is the complete lack of control that can be so overwhelming when we are so used to being in control (or at least thinking we are in control) of all other aspects of our life. So do go easy on yourself.

Today I am trying to tell myself that I should enjoy the last few days of being alone and freedom to do whatever I want. I also have no idea whether it is better for the baby health wise to come on time or after the due date, as the due date may actually be inaccurate.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way :)

Also, are you listening to any hypnobirthing tracks? There are some online that are free (I could dig out the link for you). I find they really help me relax and help me uplifting my mood and trying to remain positive.
