I'm hoping someone else can understand what I mean by this, I feel really sad and bit scared today. I saw my beautiful baby on my scan a few weeks ago and heard his/her heartbeat, and felt elated for a while but in the last 2 weeks all my symptoms have gone - no nausea, boobs seem to have deflated, no tenderness, no tummy cramps or twinges, and where I thought I was starting to get a bit of a hard bump, I just have a very flabby belly. I can't believe how emotional this is making me, I'm really scared. People keep saying 'oh its normal, the placenta is taking over' but I feel useless and also convinced this is not right. I also feel almost depressed at how fat my belly is when there is clearly no need, when the baby is only the size of a lemon...Does anyone else feel like this? The only thing I seem to have is horrific heartburn, which could be from me eating like a horse because I'm so nervous all the time. I've already gained about 7 pounds which is also making me miserable since allegedly I'm not even supposed to have gained 4 pounds yet....sorry to moan, I really hope you don't all think I'm ungrateful, its only because I know how precious this baby is that I'm going a bit mad I think, and the weight gain thing is just an add on.

I'm sure in a few weeks the bump will pop out and once I feel the baby moving I will know all is ok, but if anyone else due in October is feeling like this, please let me know I'm not going mad! Hope you're all doing well xxx

How did everyone do? Was your babies ok?...???

Please don’t worry. I had lots of spells of this and it was all ok. Don’t torture yourself if you really feel like somethings wrong call your midwife and they’ll probably listen in for the heart beat to re assure you. They don’t want you at home in some perpetual stress cycle, they’re human and most of them are nice as well.

They listen to the heart beat at 16 week appointment and all subsequent appointments so that’s something to look forward to. A few more weeks and you’ll be feeling the baby move and you’ve got the 20 week scan to keep you going until then.

Sometimes I feel really disconnected from the pregnancy/ baby and the next day I’m daydreaming about him being here and Shopping for him.

Pregnancy is up and down, it’s a crazy time. For me personally it hasn’t been the happy and joy filled day dream everyone talks about. Given up worrying about that and just taking it as it is. Don’t compare yourself self to anyone else, half of them aren’t being honest anyway. Just look after yourself.

Yes, definitely don't worry. At 15 weeks, I flew from Thailand to the UK for a wedding (only stayed 3 days) and went back to work again the day after I returned. I stayed up at the wedding until 1am and I felt absolutely fine. At 13 weeks, I literally could not have even made it to the airport I felt so rough. It's totally normal to feel better at 15 weeks. x

Has everyone read the dates on these posts?

Hi I'm 14 + 4 and my pregnancy symptoms seemed to disappear overnight when I hit 14 wks. Iv spoken to the doctor and it's all normal. They wont do any checks until 16 weeks as all my obs were fine I just have a killer migraine. Hopefully wont be too long till we can feel regular movements and be reassured x
