I can't quite believe it! Just found out today after wondering where my period had got to.

I know it's quite unusual, so just wondering if anyone else has been been through this?

Triplets, thanks for sharing those amazing photos with us. You're an inspiration xx

I've just had a BFP yesterday so I'm still in the slightly shocked and disbelieving phase... But if all goes according to plan my 40th birthday later this year will be a very tame affair!

Bring on the geriatric pregnancies ladies. This is my 2nd (I have DS age 5) and I'm intrigued as to how it will differ from my first. We should start a club to share our respective journeys (walking frames optional).

sleepyhead Congrats on the birth of your boy!

I think I did just assume that it wasn't really possible as I was so old (even though periods every 28 days). Clearly I'm a misguided twat. Blush.

Enjoy your little one. x

oldbird - yep!
"Age: The older you are, the higher your chances of having fraternal twins or higher-order multiples. Women over 35 produce more follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) than younger women. Ironically, increasing levels of this hormone are a sign of declining fertility. But FSH is also the hormone that causes an egg to mature in preparation for ovulation each month, and women with extra FSH may release more than one egg in a single cycle. So while older women are statistically less likely to get pregnant, they're more likely to have twins if they do get pregnant."

Thank you MORRIS there are times lately I wish I could turn back the clock and have them back in their cots, at least I always knew where they were!

Yep 45 pregnant and now 33 weeks. Feel as fit as fiddle.

Two things. Take aspirin low dose.75 g. My consultant at Oxford is an expert on preeclampsia and she put me on it as soon as she met me, I have normal blood pressure but she said it is a brilliant preventative medicine especially for 40 +. Come of it at 36 weeks.

The Fetal medical centre in London offers a free blood test called the Harmony test which tests for the 3 chromosomal abnormalities without any risk to the foetus. It is normally 400 pounds but if you have it early, 10 weeks I think ,then you can be part of Prof Nickoledes research.
He is very well thought of.

Huge congratulations to you. Its made me feel young again.
