Baby bedding

I know it's not technically a pregnancy question, but can I ask where everyone is getting their baby bedding from?I just can't find anything I like!! Cellular blankets and sheets aren't a problem, but I would also like a coverlet that is suitable from birth. The ones I have seen are either REALLY pink (we are having a girl) or beige. I would like something a little bit girlie, but not really in bubblegum pink!!

There are some lovely quilts (beautiful one in John Lewis!!), but these aren't suitable until after 12 months.

Baby isn't actually due until July, but I'm trying to be organised!!

Oops. Confused Does this mean that parents who bedshare with their babies have to sleep under cellular blankets too then? I've never seen them come in larger than cotbed size and my DH is always stealing our kingsize as it is... Smile

I don't want to sound flippant; I understand the risks associated with too much/improper bedding, especially in the first 8 weeks, but other factors do have to be taken into account as well, such as location baby sleeps in, whether even in same room/bed as their parents, etc.

Ilovestackingcups, as I understand it it is recommended that you keep baby outside your covers so they can't wriggle down - BabyGrand wears a GroBag, so when I hoick her into bed with me I put her on top of the duvet, about halfway down (also provides easy nipple access).

OP, I would give sleeping bags a go - I have a very wriggly baby and each night I put blankets on her she'd give me a look saying 'nice try mummy', then kick them off while I was standing there!

It is possible to bedshare with your baby without covering them with a kingsize duvet! When i do it, I wear a long sleeved top and I tuck the duvet under me at waist-ish level, so my baby is above where the duvet is and it is tucked under me so not at risk of ending up on him. He wears his sleeping bag or a cellular blanket if it is too warm.

obviously there are lots of factors to do with safe sleep and exposure to passive smoking is by far and away more significant than what precise sort of blanket you use but personally i'd rather not take unnecessary risks with a great load of padded quilty stuff.

For those quering safe sleeping for baby have a look at the Isis website. Its also good to look at as it information on what is normal infant sleep. Always good to go into parenthood with realistic expectations Smile

I searched everywhere and then saw one I liked at mamasandpapas. I think you have to see them on the display as the internet makes all the sets I seen really unattractive.
