I found out i had pcos november last year. since then ive been poked, proded and jabbed endless times and and got told that im not producing any eggs. So i recently starting taking Clomid and im on my day 5 of taking it and wondered if anyone else on here has gone through the same thing, been nice to hear stories about it from other people.

Hey!! I've got pcos I needed about a million blood tests and internal scans all the things I'm sure you've had, I had clomid and fell pregnant using it, I'm now 36+5 days. It seems 100yrs ago that we went through all this. In my experience it WILL work, it's horrible and frustrating and disappointing but you WILL get there if you have any questions I feel like I'm semi qualified!!!! Good luck x

Hello I too have PCOS and have had a long old road to getting pregnant. I'm now 29 weeks along and like planned it seems like such a long time since I was going through ttc hell.

Last year I took 3 rounds of clomid as I don't usually ovulate on my own. I'd already had a lap and dye and tried diet, exercise, weight loss, acupuncture, herbs etc etc etc. Basically everything possible! Unfortunately the treatment didn't work, and I felt terrible. I'm quite sensitive to hormones and suffered some unpleasant side effects so I took a break to give my body a rest. I conceived the first month after stopping the clomid. Apparently this is quite common, as it can kickstart your natural cycle after you stop taking it. I was shocked, and obviously delighted! I never thought I'd be able to conceive without drugs, scans and all the indignity that goes with it.

So good luck! And don't get too down if it doesn't work first time. Lots of people conceive within 6 months. And if you do get too troubled by the side effects don't worry about taking a break - it's what worked for me!

Hi hutch - another very recent success story! I just found out I was pregnant on Sunday (woop!) on my very first cycle of clomid! Obviously I'm nervous but happy (and extremely shocked), just really hoping it sticks now. Please ask if there's anything you want to know, it was just a few weeks ago I was where you are now so look how quickly it can sometimes work and I really hope it does for you - lots of people say it takes a few cycles and I've also heard the gap thing (that it can work when you come off it if it didn't work when you were on it, as it often kickstarts things).

Are you being scanned on the clomid? Make sure you are if possible. If not rely on OPKs and do them twice a day - I got my positive at midday and dtd that night and the following night. Scans and OPKs are ideal though to catch ovulation and see if the clomid is working. By the way, I posted on here a few weeks ago to ask for clomid success stories when I was where you are now so if you search for that it should give you hope too. Lots and lots of luck.

Hi - I didn't have PCOS, but clomid made me ovluate much earlier in my cycle (was previously ovulating too close to AF) and it worked for me first time! am now 21 weeks. I didn't have any issues with it (50mg).
Friend of mine also "didn't produce any eggs" and is due any day now after getting pg on clomid. Best of luck to you.
Well done alexandra petcat and planned. I got six months' supply of clomid hence feel really lucky to have five months left in my drawer for next time! For me it was something of a magic pill. At my hospital, half of those that take it get pg.

Hi hutch your story sounds like mine. I was prodded and poked from May of last year to October and finally put on clomid after they found cysts and ruled everything else out. I started clomid while taking the fertility specialist'a advice to go on a low GI diet. I also started acupunture on my cycle. The cd 2-6 pill taking at 50mg Clomid was fine, then while still doing the diet and acupuncture I noticed mild pains around cd12-15 (ovulation pain), followed on cd 22-25 by a heavyness in my stomach area and BURNING PAIN in my nipples (TMI) on 27 tested and received my first ever BFP. I am 23 weeks pregnant and aside from morning sickness early on I am completely happy and healthy.

I thought I share my symptoms with you just to give you an idea of what I went through. It wasn't easy I mean clomid hit me hard, I felt different as soon as the pills days ended and also went to hospital because of the tmi boob episode. Everyone is different but there is nothing I would change. List below are the things I researched and tried:

Acupuncture - Went every 5/6 days and she focused on shortening my cycle, this was more of a PCOS therapy but helped with stress soooo much after six months of fertility appointments. I left feeling so relaxed.

Preseed - this is sperm friendly lube. So many women recommended it on fertility sites and honestly it really made TTC "perk up" for us again. Next baby I will be using this again even before taking clomid again.

Low GI diet - This was advised to me early on with my fertility treatments.

Pineapple and brazilnuts for implantation days - I know this sounds very very odd but I did foolishly try it. Around cd 16 I started the mornings with a few bites of pineapple and brazil nuts, some woman say the pineapple core is better but tbh tastes horrible and I stuck with the pineapple rings.

Clearblue easy digital ovulation kit (or any opk) - I used this one it was expensive but easy to read. Some people say they cant get peak days of ovulation on clomid but mine came up bright and clear on cd 13 with high days on 12,14 so it must of worked cause I did ovulate and had my bfp.

Best of luck dear!

I did that too (the diet details photographerlady posted) - low GI, pineapple, brazil nuts, protein, lots of veg and full fat milk for cm.
