holland and barratt do tea bags...

LaylaandSethsmum · 07/05/2006 21:43

Health food shops. They usually sell the tea bags, loose tea and sometimes the capsules

Ledodgyherring · 07/05/2006 21:43

I got mine on ebay.

if you can find some loose raspberry leaf tea, it's much stronger and will be better than teabags. Are there any herbalists near you? they usually can source some out

kolakube · 07/05/2006 21:45

Got mine from Holland and Barrett too. Add honey, tastes nicer.

beansprout · 07/05/2006 21:46

You might want to get some honey as well, it's quite bitter.

Hope you don't have to drink too much of it Grin

I was in there yesterday aswell! Will have to wait for the weekend again.

I know you drink it to prepare your uterus for labour but is it right it can induce labour too
?

I have been told that it makes your contractions more productive/stronger. I bought some raspberry leaf tea from Holland and barrett and since taking it my braxton hicks have been stronger, but no signs of labour. It took me a long time to see it on the shelf though, it was there with the fruit teas, but i was about to give up when i spotted it. My pregnant brain couldn't see it.

Coolmama · 08/05/2006 09:54

apparently to make the Raspberry leaf tea effective you need to drink 4 or 5 cups a day -

Wills · 08/05/2006 10:08

Can I jump on and ask a question??? On my box of Rasp tea (from Holland and barret by the way) it says recommended dose not to exceed 3 a day. Why? What will happend if I have more? Can you overdose on raspberry leaves? If not does it encourage baby to come in which case.....

Wills · 08/05/2006 10:10

I must be the only person in the world who is actually enjoying it! I really like it and would happily drink this instead of tea.

Smellen · 08/05/2006 10:34

If you can't stand the taste of the tea itself (I couldn't), Neal's Yard do a tincture so you only have to take 3 tsps a day instead. It's a bit pricey though, about £8 for 10 days' worth I seem to remember.

I find adding lemon juice to it and drinking it once it's cooled makes it much more palatable, especially if you add ice. I'm taking capsules too when I remember!

flamesparrow · 08/05/2006 11:02

Wills - I think it depends on the brand - I loved mine too,but when we compared notes it turned out mine was different to everyone else's! DS is 10 weeks old now and still drinkin it Wink

tallmummy · 08/05/2006 11:26

Holland and Barrett do capsules but they are quite big. With ds4 I tried Earthh Mama Angel Baby Third Trimester tea. Mostly raspberry leaf but with a few other herbs thrown in. Quite nice. Can't tell you if it worked though as he was a transverse lie and I had a cs!
Took RL tea with other three and believe it deff helped. Especially for uterus going back after the birth.

bebejam · 08/05/2006 11:51

I got some very high quality raspberry leaf tea from Welleda (their on line store) at a very good price. (all of their items are organic and of a better quality/higher concentration than what many health food stores stock). And it actually tasted much better than other teas I'd tried.

That said... I drank a TON of tea. Was overdue by one week and had a 38 HOUR LABOUR.....

but here's to hoping it works for you!

PeachyClair · 08/05/2006 11:56

the H&B capsules seemed to speed my labour (downed a half bottle in one go thhough Blush)- have a history of slow (though not bad) labours, took the capsules from the Friday I was 6 days overdue, gave birth Sunday at 3am. i think they helped, though obv cannot prove it.

bramblina · 08/05/2006 12:05

My tesco sold them, also h&b as everyone says. I made mine up with boiling water like tea, but only half a cup, made up to a full cup with fresh apple juice. It was actually quite pleasant.

MummyToToby · 08/06/2006 18:38

where abouts in tesco could i find them. are they with the herbal teas?

BamboozlesLover · 15/06/2006 20:15

apparently the tincture is absorbed better (so therefore works quicker.) i am going to try that instead of the tea.
