im due to go on holiday in aug flying to mallorca with easyjet... term and conditions say i can fly up to 35 weeks but will need a fit to fly certificate.

but it says that it has to be no older than 5 days of issue so assuming it wouldnt be valid on the return flight? i heard a story bout a pregnant woman who werent allowed to fly home without a valid one.

also i changed my surname by deedpole recently so my maternity notes will have my newer namer but my passport and holiday will be under my old name.

slightly worried... has anyone had this issue before? x

I flew back here when 36 wks pregnant but didn't need it for return flight as I stayed here!

Check with the airline, but prob means that when you take the first outward flight it has to be no more than 5 days since you saw a doctor.

Not sure about flying on a passport that has a different name on it to the one you now have. Think you poss need to have the ppt amended in some way?

I wouldn't worry about having a different name on your maternity notes, just explain it. I flew a lot with DS1 until very late, and was never asked for my fit-to-fly certificate so there's a chance nobody will even look at it. And they are always more fussy on the outbound, as they don't want to get stuck with you somewhere :)

I'm hoping to fly at 25/6 weeks. I haven't booked as yet so can't check airline policy. However, my mid wife has told me they don't issue a 'fit to fly' certificate as its impossible to say that nothing will happen. She implied that they were a thing of the past and I was planning on just taking my maternity notes.....

I flew on ryanair last summer to majorca and was also 30 weeks! They had a sample form on their wesite that my midwife filled in 2 days before outward flight (I had to make an extra appt)....do they have anything similar on easyjet FAQs?

They did actually request and check my form on return flight so was glad I had it...but easyjet aren't as mean and tight as ryanair!

No advice on names though...sorry.

I read that when you get your passport issued you can add notes on a notes page saying also known as (then add your maiden name/ previous name) on that page. It might be worth the cost of a new/ replacement password if your holiday is so expensive??

you could possibly search on line and make a doctors appt on holiday to get signed for travelling back. ex-pat websites are good for english advice and possible help with translations.

wear flight socks! even on short flight (bordeaux) my ankles ballooned at 28-29 weeks.

I had quite a big bump - so I got asked how far along I was (just below threshold as it happened) - but if you have a neat bump (or even not) you could consider lying and saying you are 28/29 weeks.
