Early stage labour?

I'm 34 weeks now and this morning I've felt a bit off colour. Throughout the day I've felt like I have had a little bit of a dodgy tummy and felt nauseous and tired.
In the past couple of hours I've been getting period like cramping and back pain on and off but not regular.
I have had no show or anything.
Baby has been moving, kicks in the ribs etc, but its definitely head down. At my midwife appointment last week baby was head down but not engaged.
I have been having BH which have increased in intensity - the other day I had tightened so much I thought it might be real labour!

Could this be the latent phase or promordal phase of labour?

No idea (sorry) but good luck! (And a subtle bump)

Sorry but only time will tell really. You could get yourself examined and the midwife will be able to tell you if your cervix is still hard and closed or if it's softened. It could just be down to which way the baby is lying. Dodgy tummies and pregnancy seem to go hand in hand so I wouldn't read too much into that.

As with anything if you're worried give triage or your community midwives a call and see if they want to examine you.

I'm not worried. It's settled down today but I was wondering if this was the beginning. (I've had a long and difficult pregnancy so looking forward to finally meeting my baby!)

These kind of things can happen on and off for last few weeks of pregnancy its the body getting prepared etc. At 34wk I was admitted to hospital with contractions, I was given steroid injections to prepare babys lungs etc. They all stopped. And happend a few more times. But I ended up been induced 2wks over unfortunately, I was 2cm though and soft and thin, its just until 4cm things can stop and start its the latent phase. You could always ring the labour ward and ask to be seen as your classed as still prem, they will want to check for changes down there, cause if there is they will give you steroids just incase for babys lungs xx

The nausea (due to baby pressing on all your organs) and tiredness thing really kicks in again in the last weeks of pregnancy, as well as braxton hicks which is "practice" labour - your body getting ready for birth. It is pretty rubbish really. But hang in there, won't be long till baby arrives! :) Doesn't sound like early labour to me. I gave birth 7 weeks early to DS1 due to heavy bleeding with mild contractions, but they induced me due to blood loss. DS2 arrived on time after weeks of braxton hicks (was induced on due date) and feeling pretty awful all round, baby was even engaged and I was 2cm dilated from 36 weeks! Wouldn't worry unless you have bleeding, or your contractions are regular and increasing in intensity and frequency and don't stop after a few hours. You really will know for sure when it is happening!!
