I am 19 weeks PG with DC2.

I had a bleed at 14 weeks but all was okay.

I heard baby's heartbeat at 16 weeks and that was fine but I still haven't felt my baby move! I am quite worried about this?

I have an anaesthetist appointment today, Has anyone else had this? What will they do at the appointment?

I am consultant led and have my first consultant appointment this week as well, What will they do?

I am also worried about hitting my bump, I have an 18 MO who keeps kicking me in the belly (accidentally) and climbing all over me, Should I worry about this?

Also are orgasms safe? I have heard so many different opinions on this and I would like to get some opinions from other PG women.

So sorry for the questions but it would really help me getting some answers as I am worried and the baby and what I need to expect when I go to my appointments.

Some people don't feel movements until later, it depends on the position of your placenta. If you're concerned, contact your midwife and ask them to try and trace the heartbeat.

No idea re anaesthetic appointment, never had one. Also never had consultant appt.

Bump is incredibly well cushioned by the amniotic fluid - it would take an almighty kick to cause any problems - general toddler clambering etc wouldn't be enough to do you any damage.

Orgasms are safe - they can cause harmless contractions in the uterus (like braxton hicks) but won't do any harm.

Hope that's helpful!

Hi Poppet, didn't want to read and run!

I didn't feel my little one move until 21 weeks because I had an anterior placenta - however I think I may have been feeling it before that but tbh it feels a lot like bubbly trapped wind, so would have assumed that's what it was! Trumping like a trooper throughout whole pregnancy, lol ;)

And I was told by midwife that orgasms are more than safe for baby, in fact the contracting/rocking motion of the uterus can be quite soothing and enjoyable for baby. Well - without over sharing - I'm 39 weeks today and have had an orgasm more or less every other day since conception and baby is happy and healthy!

Sorry can't help with anything else but somebody else will be along later.

I recommend buying the latest UK version of What To Expect When You're Expecting - always puts my mind at ease with whatever is worrying me that month.
