PeachyClair's post reminded me of another thing. I couldn't keep water down at all but could keep a few ice cubes down. Went through bags of the stuff - munched my way through a pint glass of cruched ice about every hour and at least some of it stayed down. Also heard that drinking water just boiled helps too, although not for me.

Also at my dental check up, dentist suggested a couple of things that I tried and found effective:
Use only a very small amount of toothpaste as the foam will make you feel much worse and activates the acide in your stomach making you feel bad for a long time after brushing.
Use only a small head toothbrush as the normal ones will have the same effect as putting your fingers near the back of your mouth ie chuck up
Use toothpast with bicarbonate of soda in - again, something to do with stomach acid.

It is grim, but like everyone says, it is worth it and you know it has a definite end to it - I stopped being sick a day after delivery but my friend asked for takeaway pizza half an hour after delivering twins who had kept her on a drio in hospital nine times!

I had morning sickness from 8-20 weeks
Foods to avoid!
Apples,Bananas,Bread
Foods to try!
Greggs sausage rolls-warm,Hot chocolate

These were the only things i could eat on a morning that i didn't bring back up..banana and bread was painful-in fact i burst a blood vessel in my right eye from having bread stuck! So take me advice whatever you eat, before doing so, think, could i manage to bring this back up!
I was also on buses at the time so make sure you always have a couple of fares with you...found myself without money and stranded on a couple of occasions due to having to get off well before my stop! Wink

I has hideous morning sickness and found a few things worked for me. Someone gave me some tight wrist bands that look like 1980's sports bands and they were good. I didn't think they worked until i took them off one day and then felt even worse. Sucking mints and werthers originals constantly all day worked to. I had to keep nibbling at something like a biscuit and I used to eat a packet of jacobs cheese crackers per day. Also I found eating a banana in bed before i got up in the morning stopped me being sick for a while!
Hope this helps in some way. :)

Green and Blacks Organic dark chocolate- a square under the tongue got me to work each morning without chucking up on fellow commuters. My daughter is now a fan of the G&B chocolate ice cream- (as am I!)

Sailed through 1st pg without a hint of sickness. How smug was I? This time round however (only 9 weeks) I've felt nauseous all day & night, every day, since about week 5. Keep nibbling on biscuits, crackers & the like but am concerned about massive weight gain.
Today a revalation however - tomatoes!! Stopped the nausea and won't make me gain extra weight than necesssary!

Sympathy for those on this thread who have really bad sickness.

Mine is pretty mild - rough nausea all day, occasional sickness - but I bought myself some of those little cans of coke today along with pickled onion monster munch and cornish pasties and felt better after eating them.

I eat polos all the time too and my wrist bands are on until week 15 (when this shifted lst 2 times).
