I'm alnost 32 weeks and sleeping with bump and spd is very uncomfortable.
Would you recommend a v shaped pillow or a straight one?

either really. both did the job... although a straight one can go v shaped.. but a v can't go straight

I never tried a "v" shaped pillow. I did get a dreamgenii, which has two straight bits, one goes between your legs. I thought it was good.

I had one of those big body pillows covered in lufly furry fabric. Could manoeuvre it to any position. Was great!

I have got a dreamgenii. It has really helped with my spd

Guntie · 25/02/2013 10:25

itsmy I tried the dreamgenii and loads of other pillows and it was no help what so ever. I was in agony by 16 weeks and couldn't sleep from the pain. In the end the only thing that made a difference was this memory foam mattress topper.

Seriously. I know it seems like a ton of money but it was remarkable. I can actually sleep.

I hope you find a solution

I got a dreamgenii but wouldn't recommend it personally. I used it for a couple of days, and it kind of helped, but its huge and takes too much space in bed. It is now sitting in the spare room.

I think the V may be better as you could use it post-birth for breast feeding too.

I would also second what Guntie has said. A good mattress is key. But at that price, you could probably add £40 or so quid and get a new memory foam or memory foam topped mattress.

Good luck!

Do you have any spare normal pillows? I sleep with two of these - one behind my back and the other in front of me under bump. I found this easier as I could move them around as I needed them and if I turned over one was right there ready. The pillow behind me is good for semi reclining back aswell. I also bought a mattress topper which really helped too (mines waterproof aswell so good for potentially protecting bed if waters break). You might also find side seams on clothes around your hips begin to hurt - I bought some seam free pants from m and s as I started to get pain from annoying seams on my hips.
I hope that helps, it can be really uncomfortable.
