I'm very temped to book a scan for around 30 weeks. Just another chance to have a look before he makes an appearance.
Reassurance everything is still ok, and to possibly confirm that it's definitely a boy. If you have had one what did you think? Is it worth it? They are costly so trying to decide if its worth it.
I'm not actually that keen on what they look like on a 4d scan, bit scary imo and if i could just have a 2d i would be happy with that.
I have a friend who had a 4d scan and she didn't like it so just wanted some more opinions.

I had one at 32 weeks, partly for reassurance that she wasn't going to be enormous (I've tiny hips but DH's family all have huge babies.... 12lb-ers). The scan was by a obstetrician with 20 years experience so he was able to do another check for potential problems. It was worth it for me for these reasons. The pictures are freaky, I wouldn't have one just for those.

I loved it - DH and I pooled the money we would have spent on Christmas presents and did it that way. For us it was a bonding moment - some of the pictures looked a bit freaky, but there was a few that made my mouth drop open in shock, it looked just like a baby - and just like me as a baby!!

But you are right in that it is a lot of money, and had it not been Christmas we wouldn't have done it.

just out of interest.... how much do these 4D scans normally cost? x

Most of the places that do 3d/4d scans also do 2d scans aswell if you just wanted one of those. Perhaps call the one you were thinking of using and ask what packages they offer? Xx

Gloti the ones I have looked at range from £70-£200 x

The ones I have seen in my area such as baby bond, window to the womb etc charge around 100pound for a scan around 30 weeks.
It's so very tempting

Personally I don't like the 3d/4d scans - they seem overly intrusive to my mind. I loved seeing DS's face for the first time after giving birth, it just wouldn't have felt the same if we'd had one of these sorts of scans done.
