Hiya, I can't offer advice but do sympathise. I'm 35+5 and yesterday baby was transverse, today who knows! It's been spinning around for a week having previously been head down for ages. I was planning a VBAC but this has really thrown me. If it stays transverse then I may have to be admitted for monitoring from next week :(. So at the moment I'm bouncing on my ball and hoping it goes vertical. I've decided that I don't mind having an ELCS if need be (my EMCS was fine) but I don't want to be in hospital for 2 -3 weeks beforehand just because my waters might break.
If your baby does stay breech then you will have time to get used to the idea of an ELCS, if that's what you opt for. In the meantime get on all fours and try to get that baby to turn!

thanks for replying. im terrified off the thought of cs. i have 2 other children and hate the thought of being away from them. dh thinks its better to plan cs instead of trying to turn him and risk ecs anyway.

Well I've only had an EMCS, and to be honest it was fine. I had an okay recovery, had to take it easy for a few weeks and was careful about lifting things. But I have friends who've had difficult recoveries after forceps and got a lot less support + sympathy than I did! I guess it depends on how much help you will have for the first couple of weeks after the baby is born. And if the idea of surgery is frightening then you could give ECV a go. And check out the spinning babies website for tips on getting baby to turn - it's worth a go! I've also heard good things about acupuncture and reflexology for getting babies to move.

I has successful ecv with baby no 2. I wanted to avoid a c section if possible, so thought I hadn't lost anything to give it a go. Very glad that I went for it. X
