I am due in August with DC2. I had DD1 at JR in Oxford due to potential high risk factors, but all was fine. Now in dilema whether to go Royal Berks which is 10 mins or back to JR which is hour away and with all appointments I need, will be a lot of to and froing. JR was excellent for antenatal care but post natal care wasn't great - DD had jaundice and was diognosed at RBH and was treated there.

Anyone got any expeience on RBH ante natal care for high risk patients? Or shall I stick with what I know. I am under Mr Reid. So far RBH hasn't impressed me as scared the living daylights out of me with NT & bloods being poor and having harmony test which was fine!

thanks

I had my little boy by ELCS at RBH in 2010 and will be having no 2 there in July 2013. Was under consultant care with Miss Street (some people consider her brusk but I thought she was excellent and you can hardly see my scar).

There was a lot of waiting around at antenatal appointments and when I went in they had noro virus and were very understaffed but essential care was still good.

My friends have roughly had babies 50/50 at RBH and JR and inevitably there are horror stories and positive stories for both. I would go with whatever makes you feel most comfortable but possibly don't underestimate the convenience of only being 10 mins up the road, especially if you end up staying in and DH or family need to visit and look after DD1.

ps you must be very close to me :-)
