Brixton hicks, or early labour?

I'm really not sure, I'm 34+2, second pregnancy (no labour with the first one) so I really don't know.

I'm getting tightenings not painful as such but feels odd, baby still kicking, was very active yesterday.
He's head down and I can feel him banging on my pubic bone. But he wasn't engaged last time I was checked a week and half ago.

Just a bit worried had about 3 in very short period of time.
Just down loaded contraction timer to see if they are regular ( wasn't really paying attention until it started to make me feel sick)

Could just be BH or early labour, just keep an eye on it all and call you MW for a chat.

I had both my children early 35 and 36 weeks, no warning at all, just popping waters. If you are in early labour, it will all be OK, from 35 weeks they don't class it as early!

Thank you for your reply, just don't know what to think, just a bit on the anxious side, first birth was a nightmare, so always on high alert with this one!
If it is early labour would they want to stop the contractions or just let me carry on?

I think at 34 weeks they might just let it continue - with your consent of course. I don't know for sure - I had contractions at 32 weeks (now 35) and they stopped them but I think 34/35 they're quite blasé about it....

Definitely get checked out just in case though. Good luck!

If they don't want to stop labour they still might want to get steriods in if s/he does come early. So keep an eye on them. Everyone experiences early labour differently (sometime women's ctx are painful, sometimes not) so best to phone MWs for their advice. Fx

Thank you all for your replies, I went into the anti natal ward yesterday afternoon, just for a check. Was monitored for 20 minutes or so, baby was fine.
Then had to wait 6 hours to see a dr! Had a few more tightenings which got progressively worse, felt really sick and faint but it soon passed.
Finally saw the dr took a history and did an examination, cervix all still together and no sign of labour happening soon.
So was allowed home at midnight.
