I am in constant pain and have been for 3 days :(

I can't sleep and whenever I eat I throw up but this has been attributed to continuing sickness.

Had a MW appointment on Tuesday I mentioned the pains and she says not to worry unless they became constant which they definitely have since Tuesday evening so called again yesterday and was told to go to hospital.

So after 7 hours in hospital with trace, urine analysis and blood tests I was sent home having been told baby is still breech which could he a cause and just to take paracetemol and warm baths. I have also been scheduled for a section at 39+5 which I'm not happy about if this pain, sickness and lack of sleep continues and I also have SPD so didn't think they'd let me go that far.

So after having spent half the night on the toilet floor crying, groaning and throwing up bile I phoned MW and nothing can be done because there doesn't appear to be an issue.

Surely 3 days of serious stomach pains with no apparent reason is an issue in itself?z I just want this baby out :(

Hi Peanut, I can't offer any advice but i didn't want to read and run. I'm really sorry you're having such a miserable time right now Sad

Make sure you keep yourself hydrated and if you can't keep any water down get yourself to A+E if the maternity unit won't offer help. Listen to your instincts too, if theres no improvement insist you get seem to. Hopefully this is just a nasty sickness bug and it will clear up soon. Take it as easy as you can and I hope you feel better soon.

Well the sickness is obviously an issue, they could have given you anti-emetics to help with that and they might have helped you sleep.

If you really think there is something wrong then demand to be seen again.

You should really go and see a doctor. Not a midwife, a doctor.
There are lots of non-pregnancy things this could be and it sounds like you're in an awful lot of pain. You've had pregnancy related problems excluded, which is great, but midwives do not have medical training so can't be expected to diagnose other than pregnancy related issues.

Go and see your GP ASAP. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks ladies just checking back :)

Still getting stomach cramps but nearer to ribs than belly button and still being suck about 20 minutes after eating/drinking.

I called the maternity ward again tonight and they said to come up as I was obviously in pain but its possibly just a bug because of location of cramps and baby is wriggling lots as normal so I decided that I would suffer at home tonight as they just want to repeat yesterdays tests and I will get an appointment at doctors tomorrow AM.

I'm making sure I'm atleast drinking plenty of water and earring ice coos in between sickness and don't seen to be suffering from de hydration so hopefully just a bad bug although the 4 day cramps are unexplainable so I will buy some Senecot tomorrow as have just realised I haven't poo'd for 2 days and that was painful so that could be an issue.

It could be a gallstone attack, I have gallstones and it sounds similar to what I get and I've heard its common to get it for the first time in pregnancy, the pain I get is just below my ribs and is a strong constant pain.

See a doctor mine diagnosed it straight away, I think when you're pregnant they just assume its pregnancy related.
