Freon leak and pregnant

Hi bit of an odd one and not sure if anyone can help/advise.
I am pretty much housebound due to pregnancy complications and we think that we may have a freon leak from either fridge or freezer. House is being decorated and have no kitchen door so the smell is all over the lower house. As I am in all the time I didn't notice but when DH came home he complained of the smell.
I also have a 2 year old who gets out more than me.
We have no idea who to call out in this circumstance and are getting all credit cards together to pay for a new fridge or freezer (these things always happen at the worst times financially) but we have no idea which it is or both.
I feel quite sick and am trying to spend time upstairs from a google search freon is a liquid that evaporates but is mostly harmless - except to the environment.
However can make you feel sick - of course being pregnant (35 weeks) I don't know if I am feeling sick from the leak or just pregnancy - should I be concerned about being in the house all the time and any risks to my baby (and toddler)- I am opening windows and doors but as soon as I shut them again the smell comes back.
Any help appreciated...

Can you hang a sheet or cloth over the door opening? And opening the windows in the kitchen permanently.

I think in this instance you'd call an electrician, but probably only if you wanted to get the fridge fixed? Could always give one a call for advice.

Might also be worth giving your council a call as they might be able to give advice with regards to what to do (and they'd have facilities for disposing of it if it ends up that's the only option).

That's a good idea will try that its too cold out to leave open without some sort of wind break.

We thought of an electrician but not sure it would be there area as it is gas/liquid but will try, council have never been very helpful we had a problem with a tree and they basically said it was our problem, but can try again.

Found a refrigeration engineer who is coming round later happy to pay call out fee just to get sorted as I feel sick every time I go downstairs.
