30+3 - feels like my heart is racing. Anyone else had this?

What the title says really... I've just been sat at my desk at work today and it feels as if my heart is racing really fast. My pulse feels normal(ish), perhaps a little fast and my BP has been on the low side up to now. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but doesn't seem quite right. Anyone else experienced this?

Call your midwife, best get your bp checked. It may just be baby/uterus pressing on an artery but better safe than sorry x

I'm 30+2 (hello!) and have been getting this on and off for the past few weeks, sometimes sitting at my desk, watching TV or even lying in bed.

As far as I'm aware it's completely normal, because of the natural pressure being put on our hearts etc. My pulse and BP have also been absolutely fine when my heart's pounding away.

If you feel really odd, then yes do go and get it checked out or perhaps just see if you can discuss it over the phone with a MW to put your mind at rest and see what they say? The NHS website says "Palpitations can sometimes be the result of hormonal changes that happen during a woman's periods, during pregnancy, or around the time of the menopause. However, these are usually only temporary and not a cause for concern."

Hope all goes well :)

I had this on and off since 28 weeks, maybe once or twice a week. I had a low ish bp like yours so maybe that's it? I just used to sit down and inhale/exhale slowly until I felt ok again. If you're really concerned give your midwife a ring - this kind of stuff is what she's here for :)

Literally just finished reading in What to Expect that 30-35 weeks is the point when your blood volume is at its highest and your heart is therefore working very hard.
