When you stroke your tummy, can the baby feel it inside?

Through the abdominal wall, the uterus and the amniotic fluid?

Baby has been sticking limbs out all day which has been lovely which has been so lovely considering the whole situation atm - made me realize again that it's a baby all this is about - and I have been stroking my tummy all day, but I was wondering, will he actually notice?

I'd imagine the baby might feel it through the endorphins you'd feel stroking it iyswim... other than that I'd say if you stroked firmly (ie rubbed) there's a good chance. I used to tickle ds's feet in the womb, he used to poke them out. He's very ticklish now!

I always spoke to dd when I was pregnant..on the way home from work I used to sing to her as well. I still talk and sing to her now and she loves it and laughs!!

BTW I also used to stroke my tummy loads (mw actually shouted at me as apparently it could bring on contractions! yeah whatever!!) and dh used to talk to dd at night.

I'd say do it..Baby will be aware you are there (yeah yeah sounds stupid as you are carrying baby, but iykwim!!) and it's a way for you to offer reasurrance to baby, a good idea.!

I think so, especially if you talk at the same time. Even if it is because it makes you feel better and that gets transmitted to baby. I like it whan the little legs (or whatever they are) poke outGrin
