It's just pregnant ewes you need to be careful of. Apart from that, keep washing your hands and you'll be fine.

I am sure you are fine to go on a farm, just make sure you wash your hands after touching any of the animals.

Am pretty sure that farmer's wives have been having big strapping babies for thousands of years without incident Smile

Pregnant/recently lambed ewes and newborn lambs are the danger I think so steer clear of those. And wash your hands a lot!!

We stayed on a (sheep) farm for a week this year. I kept away from the animals and I was careful to wash hands, especially after touching anything or putting on/taking off my shoes. All was completely fine.

I work on a farm (2 in fact!) and have therefore had two pregnancy risk assessments. All fine, just keep away from direct contact with new lambs (which there probably will be in April) as there is a risk of toxoplasmosis for up to 6 weeks after birth I think. You can look but don't touch and wash your hands lots. If you wanted to be extra cautious just check with the farmer that they haven't had any aborted lambs in the last week as chlamydiosis causes most sheep abortions and can be passed (air born) to people. Doesn't stay around long though - you should be fine. Enjoy :)
