Hi,

With DC2 due in 3 weeks I'm wondering what changes I will need to make to my/our routine to make the school run easier with the new baby. I will potentially have a breastfeed to fit in before leaving for school. I'm going to start making DD's lunch the night before so that's one less thing I need to do in the morning I'd appreciate any tips you may have or things you do to make the mornings easier

I'm expecting dc4. My previous babies were born in july/August do I had 6 weeks of summer holidays to get into some sort of routine. This time I'm due in June so I won't have 6 weeks to get organised. Dh will be off for 2 weeks so that will def help. My dc are. 3, 6 & 9 and all at nursery/school. I find getting bags/uniforms/shoes all ready the night before helps. At the moment I shower when u get back from school. The baby can stay in their sleepsuit for school run , just change bum. No one will see under a coat and blanket. Plan to leave 10 mins before you need to incase of an unexpected poosplosion or sick!

Good luck

Deffo keep baby in sleepsuit. If cold just bung a snowsuit over the top and no one will know anyway. Using a sling helped, then I had free hands to carry lunch boxes and hold the older children's hands. And get as much as poss ready the night before.

Do you walk to school or drive? I used to drive my older Dcs to the bus stop when I had my 4th child and as suggested above, just changed her nappy but left her in her sleepsuit. I found it worked best if I left baby in bed whilst getting myself ready and then I used to feed her in the car at the bus stop. Obviously this wouldn't work if you are walking to school. A bit too cold for breastfeeding whilst outside, at the moment.

When my older Dcs were little I used to set the table for breakfast the night before, including putting the cereal boxes out, so just had to get milk from fridge when I got up. Get as much ready the night before as possible.
