Preganat after Endometrial ablation HELP

I found out on thurs that I am pregnant. HAd endo ablation done 18months ago. Am seriously freeking out. Someone offer advice

First of all, are you freaking out because you don't want to be pregnant or just because you are surprised? What does your doctor say? Can you be referred to an EPU to get specialist advice?

Freeking out because I a am in shock b didnt want any more children and c know that having a preganacy after ablation can be dangerous. EPU dont know anything about this as there is only a 0.7% chance of it happenign and they have never seen it before.

If you can remember the name of your gynae consultant, call the main hospital switchboard and ask to speak to his/her secretary. Explain that you have been in contact with EPAU who are unable to advise. They should be able to get the consultant to give you a call.

Alternatively, have you seen your GP? They may also be a good place to start as they can ring up the on call gynae and get urgent advice.

HI I called the dr as soon as I found out I was pg. They sent me straight up to EPU who sent me straight for a scan. Its all up in the air at the moment and I dont know what to think or do. Might try calling consultnat, never thought of that one x

Definitely speak to the consultant ASAP. If you don't get any joy through the secretary, see the GP and he/she will be able to get somewhere with a gynae consultant. Try not to freak out. It's happened and no you didn't want or expect it to but you can deal with it and explore your options with the right people.

You definitely need to see someone ASAP. I've had ablation done and was also told it could be dangerous to get pregnant afterwards. How many weeks are you?

The effects of ablation does wear off after a while. Some people it only forks for about 3 years. So it could be that after 18months your womb lining has gained a bit more thickness. Fingers crossed.
