Snacks
Slippers/slipper socks
Wipes (for you, not baby- in case the Ward is too warm and you feel too hot and sticky)

Good luck! I probably should start getting my bag ready too. I'm planning a home birth but should really get a bag done, just in case.

I'm packing a spare pillow, hospital ones are horrible. Maternity mats in case waters break and you need something to sit on. Lanisoh if you're breastfeeding. Lip balm, lucozade sport and hair ties, flip flops and antibacterial spray (hospital bathrooms!) and hand wash are also on my list.

Have you got cotton wool and nappy sacks for the baby too?

I'd not bother with breast pads. Your milk won't come in for about 3 days, hopefully you'll be home then!

I had 3 bags - a small bag for labour (straw, energy sweets, cereal bars, phone, one outfit and nappy, knickers with pad in, wash stuff, flip flops and hand towel)

Main bag in case I went to the ward (knickers, pads, pyjamas, towel, baby clothes, cereal bars, phone charger)

Changing bag (idea from someone on here - if you have complications/epidural/spinal or CS, you can put the changing bag within reach rather than having to ask someone to get nappies/wipes out of your main bag)

The changing bag and main bag can stay in the car, take the labour bag in with you to the hospital. If you're at home, you know where everything is (no directing DP/DH to find stuff) and it's ready to go if you need to transfer in!

Do pack breast pads! Yes, you'll hopefully be home by then but if you're not, you don't want to be in the situation I was in, utterly soaked in milk and having to send out for emergency pads, nighties, nursing bras. Sending my dad out, how embarrassing!

I ended up being in hospital for a week and dry shampoo was my life saviour!!! I also had my bag and a bag for thse baby. A;so...think how many pants you want to take and triple it.

Thanks think is got everything I needed or already had it at home :) going to get some fave wipes in thr groceey shop.
Didn't use cotton wool/water last time as didnt even realise we should dd has never had nappy rash so hopefully wipes will be okay.
Will be packing my pillow last minute. Its my normal sleep pillow so need that for now. I sent dp out to get mine last time. I ended up in for 3 nights afterwards.

I always overpack pants and socks just a habbit.
