Pregnancy pillow - any recommendations?

Hi all,

I've just reserved a simple Sleep Body Pillow from argos that is currently on sale. Has anyone used one like that? Is it any good? Or should I splash out more and go for the Pregnancy Nursing Pillow, like this?

I think I'd go for the second one, but mainly just to sleep with (nursing pillows for actual nursing need to be fairly firm, I ended up buying a separate one for that purpose).

I have the dream genie, it has long pillow on one side and a shorter one on the other side, with a flat sheet bit connecting them which is the bit you lay on. I think this is brilliant as you can roll over in your sleep and still have tummy support on the other side. However one of my friends had one and said she used to get tangled up in it Hmm

Another vote for the Dream Genii from me too. I thought it was really expensive when I first saw it but its been fantastic - use it every night and would not be able to sleep nearly as soundly or well supported without it.

I got this one from John Lewis. It bends round into all shapes, Can be used to support bump/legs etc before birth, and a nursing pillow afterwards. It's got beans in it like a beanbag and is really supportive. Think it will be more versatile then the dream genii one. m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/Shopping/Product.aspx?Type=SKU&Id=230733273

When do you start using a pillow to sleep?

Another fan of dreamgenii. Pricey but well worth it. Thought I'd actually outgrown its usefulness by about 33/34 weeks. But then went away for a week without it over Christmas and massively noticed the difference. Woke up much more achy than usual when sleeping without it.

Littlemiss - a pillow helps once you have a noticeable bump, as from that time onwards your back will twist uncomfortably and you may get hip pain when you sleep on your side (and sleeping on your back is not recommended). 20 weeks is a good estimate.

My DH (bless him) ordered me this one from Kiddicare. I've been sleeping so much better! Definitely reccomend it and the advantage is it can be used for breast feeding and to stick baby in later on!
I started using mine around 22 weeks.

I have 2 a big long one from mother care which I kind of hug like I am a koala bear or something.... And another small one like a wedge of cheese (again from mothercare) which I wedge between my back and the bed. 2nd pregnancy now. If I had my time again I'd probably get the dreamgeni but I do think the cheese one is quite good!
