If you could hire a TENS from your maternity unit, would you?

Pondering work stuff.

How long would you want it for? 5 or 6 weeks? From 37 weeks up to birth?

How much would you want to pay?

Would you want it sent to your house or to pick it up at the maternity unit?

Would you mind a large deposit?

Would you remember to give it back afterwards?

Um... Anything else?

Thanks

Lots of places do TENS rental already, Boots, Mothercare, I think other pharmacists like Lloyds as well. I looked into it with my first baby, but realised buying a TENS wasn't much more expensive and I have lent it out to lots of friends and family members since and will have it back for my second.

Not sure there'd be much need to borrow one from a maternity unit given all the other options. But maybe people would.

i'd probably hire one from mothercare it's about £30 or buy one as it's not that much more. i am not sure i am going to get one though

I've been looking at them today on the Mothercare website. The cheapest one has the best reviews, £30 or just under I think, so if I decide to get one then that'll be it. The hire period is 5 weeks plus one week 'emergency' at no extra cost, so I suppose that means you could have it from 36 weeks if so inclined.

If my local hospital could undercut this price and I could pop in to collect it anytime after 36 or 37 weeks, I would take them up on the offer. I would rather support the NHS than a private company.

I only used my tens machine when I was 7-9 months preg for back pain. It was amazing but it does nothing for labour.
