Is anyone going or been in previous years?
There is one at excel in London end of feb and Birmingham in May. I'm expecting dc1 in June so wondering if it was worth going to compare prams etc or is it unnecessary costs/travel etc. I am closer to Birmingham but don't want to wait till May thanks

Totally unnecessary in my opinion.

Go to kiddicare or a large Mothercare and compare prams. Baby shows just exist to make you think you need more stuff than you do.

Think I might go to the London one. Want to test out buggies and slings etc and then come away with ideas of what we'll buy. Won't be taking the credit card although sometimes you get good show discounts.

I think we have decided on iCandy peach but didn't know if we could get discount there or double check that's the buggy for us. Also interested to look at different slings but not sure if that's worth waiting till dc is here. If its not worth the savings if i factor in cost of tickets and travel I won't bother

We went to the big one at Earls Court a couple of months ago. What I would say is that they are great if you are organised beforehand and know exactly what you want because there are great discounts. We ended up getting loads of stuff that we knew we wanted because there were lots of the smaller companies there with stalls as well - eg. Cuddledry towels (I'm sure I'll get lots of people on here saying they are completely unnecessary but hey ho!), Medela breast pump, steriliser, bottles, nappy bin. Also got buggy for a really good price because Mothercare were doing a price match with all the other companies at the show so we got a brilliant price from the Kiddicare as a package with car seat, adaptors etc. and then went to the mothercare stand and they matched it. I think we saved about £100 on that. We also got £50 off a bednest at the NCT stall. BUT - it genuinely would have been a nightmare if we had gone in there just to wander round and see if anything took our fancy if that makes sense. So many people and very stressful when pregnant! I literally took a spreadsheet with everything we wanted, which companies, what their stall numbers were and everything. Sounds ridiculous but it did work very well!
Hope that helps.

Fab thanks that's good to know. Out of interest how much did you pay for nappy bin?

Sorry I can't remember but it was at the Tommee Tippee stand and they were doing a special offer and people were queuing up to buy them! I remember that!

That's a good plan vicky. I was going to wander but actually thinking carefully about what we want beforehand is a great idea. Hate how busy and hot those places are!!
