Hospital bags - what do the hospitals provide?

I've just packed my hospital bag but was unsure what the hospital provides for changing the baby?

I've put 5 nappies in but do I need to pack nappy sacks, wipes, cream, talc etc?

Wipes and disposable mats for changing on the bed, because walking to the loo might be hard. Tons of nappies and I would take bags as well, again if you aren't so mobile you can just lob them over the edge of the bed until someone else is around. If you need help with anything you will be waiting a lifetime so I would go with as some as possible. And take as much food as you can carry, believe me you will get very little and anything that does come your way is inedible. You don't need talc, I don't think it is recommended now. I used a muslin to dry DD before new nappy. Drapolene is fine, I used sudocrem but again only if red, you don't need to drown them in it. You don't mention feeding for the baby at all, worth taking pads and nipple shields if you are intending to bf, if ff you need pretty much everything yourself.

Or you could hope and pray they let you out quickly! 3 days after DD I left myself, I was so fed up of being ignored. Much better at home. This time I will be running as soon as I can move I think!

My hospital didn't provide sheets and blankets for the crib - poor dd had to lie on paper towels until dh brought a sheet from home! It never even occurred to me to check! Defo take a pack of nappies and the biggest brick sanitary towels you can find! Good luck Smile
