Baby bundlers/nightgowns anywhere?

When DD was little, I bought her a few of these baby bundlers from John Lewis. They were a godsend when she was little, but I passed them on to a friend not long ago and so now I need to buy some more (36 weeks today so need to get prepared) - and I can't find them anywhere other than these pink ones!!!

I don't know whether we're having a boy or a girl - I know I shouldn't care about a boy being put in a pink bundler with a bow on it, as nobody other than me and DH will see and who cares anyway, but I have to confess I am put off this idea and would prefer plain white/yellow/green/anything other than pink... I saw some on the Mothercare website but they're out of stock and have been for weeks. I have also seen some gorgeous Olive & Moss ones but they are a jaw-dropping £20 each Shock Shock Shock!!!

Any suggestions where I can get reasonably priced bundlers/nightgowns from??

Thanks Smile

John Lewis have white ones for £8 I think

I've been looking for them too (though I'm hoping it's not too late for them to be useful, DS is 4 months).

These white ones seem to still be in stock? www.johnlewis.com/230591844/Product.aspx

And this nightgown would do for either boy or girl, currently on sale: www.piccalilly.co.uk/products/loop-the-loop-nightgown

Either of those any use?

I followed the link you sent to john lewis, and there is a link there to a plain white one for £8 - is that any good to you?

Have to say, had never come accross these before, but they look like a great idea, might be tempted to try them out this time round (I remember the hassle of undoing sleepsuits at night!

Oooh, I love that piccalilly website!!! I'm going to have a look at what other lovely things they have...

I am feeling a bit meh about paying £8 each for them, the Mothercare ones were reduced to £9 for a pack of two and I only paid £4 each for the ones I had last time as they were on sale - but they really are a total lifesaver so I guess if I have to pay £8 each I will have to get on with it.

Have slyly texted my DMum to tell her I've seen them and need them... She's been asking for ages what she can buy for the new baby and I've pretty much told her we have everything already from last time, so hopefully she won't think I'm too grasping greedy forward...

This may not be an active link as I'm not sure how to make them but I got a couple from here www.monkeystars.co.uk/baby-sleep-gowns-76-c.asp they're a little cheaper and pretty too :).

That's perfect Fluffeh - £6 each is more like it (every £1 makes a difference when you're facing statutory mat pay!!!) Grin

Interesting the monkey stars ones have more sizes such as 0-3 months, 6-12 months where as JL says one size which I thought was first size

I've never seen these before and I'm pregnant with my 2nd baby! Why are they so good? Do you use them instead of sleepsuits?

emsyj · 07/01/2013 14:21

I only used them when DD was very tiny and waking every 2 hours - I would feel more nervous using them later in case she got herself a bit tangled, but I guess if baby is in a sleeping bag it might be fine?? Confused

NoTeaForMe yes, you use them instead of a sleepsuit with legs and poppers - so when you do a night time poo change, you can just hoik up the bottom and undo the vest. It only saves seconds, but we all know that every second counts when it comes to those sleepless nights in the early days! I only used them at night time but I suppose you could use them all the time if you wanted to.
